I needed Indian food and this place had it. The dishes made sense and I showed up on Dosa Day, which was an awesome bonus.There was an ever-flowing pot of spiced tea and a picture of the great pyramid of India. I truly felt like a participant in the subcontinental cycle of Samsara.

I would not recommend dining in. The restaurant had so many bugs and flies swarming around, it did not feel hygienic whatsoever. I had to leave immediately.EDIT: Look at how unprofessional their response is. They accuse any review that isn’t a 5/5 to be fake and in affiliation with other businesses, and they add rude insults on top of it. If they’re that unfriendly in reviews, imagine how they are at the restaurant. Definitely wouldn’t recommend coming here at all!

My husband and I met up with friends at Madurai for the first time. The service was excellent, and the owner and staff accommodated our requests. The food was outstanding - the spices weren’t overbearing and too much - everything was very tasty.I ordered something NOT on the menu - thayir idli/curd idli. It was perfect- the chef did a superb job making it for me ?.I suggested they add it to their menu, it was that good!I highly recommend this place, and we will meet more friends there (have yet to try Gajar ka halwa).Dietary restrictions: I have severe GERD, and am restricted in what I can eat, especially when it comes to Indian food. They were able to accommodate my needs.
