We were on a road trip from IA to Chicago and this was a stop before getting on the tollway. Service was great, food and atmosphere were what you'd expect. Typical diner type food that was good. Milkshake was pretty basic, biscuits and gravy seemed canned or prepackaged, hash browns(not pictured) were cooked well and crispy, pecan waffle was delicious.

My wife and I stopped for breakfast. It's an old Big Boys Restaurant and the facilities are old and worn. The food was great and we had good service although signage warned of being understaffed and that a 4% penalty would be charged if you use a credit card rather than cash.

Pretty basic breakfast place. I didn't see anything on the menu that was unique and there is definitely not a healthy section. Coffee was just okay. Service, however, was really good and it seemed like there were a lot of regulars who knew the staff.

Our server was great. Everything else?? Meh..... buss boys walking around in circles, never helped our server, never stopped at our table, never cleared our plates. When our server asked one of the hostesses for assistance, she lumbered slowly towards her, rolling her eyes as if she was totally put out. Actually there were two hostesses in front that stood around doing absolutely nada..NADA! Oxymoron is that they have a sign in the vestibule that states they are "short staffed". Truthfully, I would describe it as "poorly staffed." And who (?) serves hot tea in styrofoam cups?? Ridiculous. Absolutely do not recommend. Bathrooms were filthy. Doors locks installed improperly and you can't even lock the door on the women's bathroom. Those two "hostesses" need to get to work... have pride in their jobs, or be replaced. To the bus boy who just walks around the restaurant not lifting a finger, we see you....
