Drove from Champaign and they did not disappoint!!! First off great service everyone was so nice and welcoming ! Very clean inside! Allowed us to try samples of some of the food and EVERYTHING was amazing ! The flavor seasoning spice service is ALL there! Personal favs were the oxtails , beef stew chicken , mac \\u0026 cheese , and cabbage. Try them today not tomorrow!

They do not use seasoning on sides here, make sure to ask for salt on fries or veggies. Fries were soggy but I had take-out. TONS of bones! Be careful! They cut right through and leave it in with the meat. The mixed j*** chicken is 1/3 bone by volume.Spicy, the j*** sauce is roughly 5-6 times hotter than Tabasco. Extra sauce containers are 1oz, most restaurants have 3oz sauce containers.

You can't beat the flavors that Dop's J*** House is serving up. This is a unique restaurant to the bland chain restaurant scene that Bloomington-Normal is so accustomed to! If you have an adventurous palate, an interest to break from the usual, and want to support a great local business - go get you some Dop's! We have sampled a delicious, hearty chicken and dumpling type stew, warm beef hand pies perfect for those chilly days, and a range of other dishes including a curried ox tail with beans and rice. I've not had a bad meal yet, the portions are large and the food is delicious.I've been here three times so far, it has improved every time I've shown up!First time was opening day and it was a mad house, many reviews go into depth on it but they were overwhelmed and out of most things.My food was still good but the wait was long. Every time since the wait is much shorter and the food is still great. I tried to order a dark j*** dinner but they sold out so I got the white j*** dinner last time. I think of it like a good BBQ place-when they're out that's all for the day... Get there earlier next time!I've eaten:Curried chicken stewPlantainsSpicy beef pattyJerk lollipopsRed beans and riceMac and cheeseWhite meat j*** dinner.All were delicious my favorite is a toss up between the curried stew and the lollipops

I’m always glad to see food diversity in a town with mostly ‘cookie-cutter’ restaurants. The staff was friendly. I did see reviews of both sides and decided to check it out. Glad I went. Cabbage was seasoned, wasn’t crunchy and wasn’t soggy/over-cooked. I was very pleased. I also had some j*** wings and I can tell it wasn’t someone of island decent who made it but it was still good enough to where I would eat there again. I hope they add some more fan-favorites like coco bread and that they maybe adjust their prices vs. food quantity a bit in the future.

Truth be told, I know the owners. Friends open a restaurant and you want to try it, right?That said, if it was bad... I would not write a review. In fact... this is my first review ever!But it was really REALLY good. Curry Chicken was tender, spicy in the right way, and fell right off the bone. Red beans and rice were on point. Yams were done just right, and my favorite, the Mac and Cheese, had a kick to it I really liked.My wife doesn't eat meat and tried the cabbage sample and she loved it.

The food is good the portions sizes of certain dishes are good but the portions of ox tails leaves something missing. They gave a small then a smaller one and one regular size one.I was told by the people I purchased them for that they were delicious! But they said the amount they got for the price wasn't good. BUT THE TASTE WAS GREAT. I had the curry chicken and I love it. Warning the chicken is not bone less but the meal was good to me.Vegetarian options: They do have a few vegetarian options. I can't speak on the taste because I am a meat eater sooo.Parking: so. Parking is ok it is not a dine in place so get your food and get out
