There were 6 of us that went to dinner before a concert at the Castle Theater. It was the day before St Patty’s Day and they advertise corn beef and cabbage. I ordered a Rueben sandwich. It was horrible. It was not on rye bread, no sauerkraut, or 1000 island dressing! I’m not sure if it was corn beef. We were in a hurry to get to the concert so I did not get a chance to speak with our server again! I just wish if they did not have the ingredients for the Rueben to tell the customer so that I could have made another choice! Going out for the evening was a treat for me and not having to cook an extra bonus. I just wish it was as described and if they did not have it to let the customer know!

Bars decent. Food is very good. Slot machines are impossible to win on. Don't gamble here.

Fantastic at its price point. Got a pound of wings for ten bucks, came with fries. Tasty and hot. Service was fun and friendly. Even reminded me I left my jacket on the chair. Food was hot, drinks were cold. Not a cocktail bar, but they'll mix you a drink or pour a cold beer. Ambiance, it's located in an old central Bloomington building so you get the high tin ceiling and open floor layout. Wide open space. But for the price of one and a half cocktails at a fancy place, I got away with three drinks and a meal. Wow. Definitely a workhorse establishment.

I’ve only lived in town for a shorter period of time; I’ve never had a bad experience at this place so I invited a group of friends here. We had a different, older bartender. He was extremely disrespectful to my friends. I’ve never experienced this being here, but I regret going here over the other calm bars in town. He closed the bar when he felt, not bar time. He disrespected my friends, I personally would take this experience and I would not go again. He started accusing my friend of things that were not nearly relevant, he started stating blows over a group of people who hadn’t even had a drink 40 minutes prior.. his bar time ended at 12:15, which we were fine with. I’m honestly just disappointed. Whoever was in charge at the time of our arrival, I lost respect for a place I once thought highly of

Came here to have a beer with some friends. Had a beer. This place was absolutely dead. Seems like it could be a nice bar though.

I had a tenderloin and fries which was good, especially considering how reasonably priced it was. The wait staff was attentive. The environment was good with lots of TVs but not so loud that you can still hear the people you came with.

Mcguires is a great college town bar without the college....issues. We came in on a Wednesday night and it was amazing. Christine (sp?) Was our bartender and she was great! Always had a full drink, she was polite and made good small talk. If you are looking for a nice big bar with great service and good people, you need to stop in and have a few.
