Don't let the outside fool you, but this place is the spot for a thin crust pizza! Stopped here on a whim to get pizza for lunch one day. Inside was a bar with that old school feeling. It doesn't look like anything has changed which is pretty nostalgic. This place is cash only so I had to use the ATM that's inside the bar and pay the ATM fees (which I cannot stand, but I wanted a pizza pretty bad lol). There's a bell to use to place an order if you don't see anyone. Hit that bell and the lady came out from the back pretty fast. She told me it would take only 20 minutes and she was spot on! This pizza was steaming hot out of the oven when I came to pick it up. I normally let the pizza settle so I don't burn my mouth but I couldn't resist since it looks so good! The crust is thin and crunchy, but not too thin...just perfect. The sauce was zesty and sweet which is the way I like the pizza sauce to be. I got a sausage pizza with extra sauce and kinda well done...it was divine. Check out the pic :)

Back in March I was visiting a local dance establishment when I got hungry, and ordered pizza from Frank's. When I received my order, I was quite irritated as my sausage pizza had no sausage. I called the establishment only to be told they were closing shortly and the ovens were off. I immediately drove the five minutes and walked in to Frank's with the messed up pizza. The gentleman in the back was apologetic, as he informed me that the ovens were off. I persisted and asked him to just add the sausage as the order wasn't correct though I had paid for it already. I didn't want a refund I just wanted the error corrected. He, relieved that I didn't want a refund, was then more willing to help. He continued to add the sausage and cook it on the pizza adding more cheese to make it a bit better. He was kind enough to give me plates, plastic ware, and napkins as I left satisfied. Mistakes happen, but the recovery is why I would be a return customer of Frank's.

Been coming here for almost 30 years with my parents and it was always a destination spot for a nice southside tavern pie.. place looked closed at 3pm from western avenue. All doors closed, and no cars in the lot. Walked in and I the bartender sitting watching college baseball.. Time to join the rest of society and accept debit/credit. Used to be able to bring your kids here as well, but that's no longer the case as there's meth-heads lingering around the patio and gaming machines while the bartender sits at the end of the bar and acts as if everyone who walks in is a major inconvenience to him. What a let-down.. not very appealing either walking in to the pool table being 50 degrees crooked with pizza flour all over it looking as if there had just been a bar-fight. Get some new blood into this place and it won't be empty all afternoon. Frank would be ashamed.
