My experience with Panera was most enjoyable. Today, I was serviced by Shawn, and he is the definition of superior customer service. The initiative he displayed was something that is rarely exercised. I ordered a bowl of chicken noodle soup for my ill daughter. As I got to the window, I explain to Shawn that I visited the previous night and the soup was mostly broth. So, I asked if he could please make sure it's chunky this time. Without asking, Shawn gave me a family size soup on top of the bowl of soup and apologized for the inconvenience. He also said he hope my daughter feels better. The world needs more Shawns. Please recognize him as you are very lucky to have him representing your brand.

Great food. No vegan options at all. The employees are nice, the restaurant is clean, but always empty. At most, there might be one other table when we've gone to visit.Parking: You have to park in the back of the store. Typically go in one door and out the other. This can make it a bit difficult for seniors. Since the restaurant is never busy, we just walked back out the entrance door.
We pre-ordered and went through the drive-through, we added extras to one sandwich that we weren’t given. We drove back around to the drive-through, and she insisted that the extra avocado and extra chicken were on the sandwich. The same amount of avocado was on the sandwich without extra avocado. She also forgot the bacon, and after arguing with us that the extras were definitely on the sandwich did give us extra bacon. Don’t waste your money, adding extras you won’t get them!

I always order ahead on the app for drive-thru pickup. Every time I use the separate order-ahead drive-thru line, I’m told that next time, I should stand in the regular line and tell the person at the monitor that I am here to pick up my order and then continue to stand in that line. It’s like uhhh… then what is the point of the separate order-ahead line? Better yet, what is the point of ordering ahead if I’ll have to stand in the regular drive-thru line anyway. Just ridiculous. The Panera in Downers Grove on Lemont Rd (and all other Paneras, I’m sure) seems to accommodate order-ahead drive-thru orders just fine.
Did not update their app when they were out of bread and I wasn’t aware of it until I got to the pick up window(purposely went to the further Panera from my house bc the other Panera was out of bread and stated so on the app). They gave the wrong bowl of soup for my order and they were 4 minutes late on my pick up order when no one was in line before me. Very disappointed in my pick up this evening.
