Quality of food has gone down. Bring back the original chicken tenders. Steaks are hit or miss.I nearly broke a tooth trying to eat the tenders. Management presence is definitely needed. Customer service has gone to garbage. I’ve dined here for over 35 years, and I’m sad that this family owned business doesn’t put the effort in the place that they use too.

Ordered two meals for me and spouse, they forgot to charge one and brought back only one meal than I asked to charge me for second one so I can eat and they said I have to go all the way to the back of the line to order even though they acknowledged it was their mistake. So I sat and did not eat at all.

Last night wasn't a good night worse I've seen. I really like Mattson too but things need to improve soon. I went there looking forward to a drink from the bar the lights was off bar closed I think someone said bar tender had to help in kitchen because it wasn't enough workers there. The food was not right my country fried steak was overly cooked so they had to bring me another one my mash potatoes was cold butter never melted on them. So I took my food home and warmed it up. I seen a lot of people sending their food back too. Salad bar was the best so I only ate that. Staff was nice waitress did a good job .I hope Matteson get more staff so service can better. Please keep the bar open too I was looking forward to a Pina colada ?

Staff are very nice, and that's it, I know it is called "steakhouse" but don't try to order the meat, we ordered the boneless Ribeye and NY steak and both were non eatable, the chef was nice to change those and cook two new ones for us, but there was no difference between the first and the second meat, it is literally the worst piece of meat you can eat, however to be fare salad bar is good. I am sorry I have to say that!

i have been coming to this place a long time for lunch birthday parties and dinner, and tonight is the quiet experience i had. the staff is behind the grill playing, i hear dishes falling and breaking in the floor, and i heard and witnessed other customers telling the manager on duty that one of the cooks have no gloves on, therefore i observed him as i was waiting in my food and just as sure he picked up garlic beard with his bare hands. she called him from behind the counter and stated people is complaining about you not having gloves, as if she was ok with him not? i am highly disappointed in this service and i have pictures and videos of the staff behaviors . please meet with your staff to educate them on sanitation and customer service.

Ordered porterhouse steak and wife had steak and crab combo. $80 and some change, steaks were ok but definitely not worth prices. Crab legs were phenomenal. Hot bar we had greens and macaroni. Greens were great but macaroni was not. Needs some music for better atmosphere, better cuts of steaks.
Stopped going 7 years ago because the food became mediocre. Tried them last week and still the same. The salad bar has been the only consistent best thing. They use to marinate the steaks. Even the fish and shrimp batters are blah. No one came around to clean our tables as before.
