We visited this restaurant for lunch during the week. Service was excellent, food quality excellent, authentic Tex-Mex. Try the Chile Rellenos, they are authentic, and most Mexican restaurants can't do them right. Tacos are crispy shells, not wimpy shells, and meat is top quality. Byron is the hidden gem of the Sauk Valley.

The bathrooms need a very good cleaning and so does the doors. I had ordered the steak taco salad. I have to specify what needs to be taken out due to health reason. The food prep and service, I have to admit was quick. However, this was not authentic Mexican food. I had to look at twice to make sure it was steak, never seen it cut the way it was. Also, there was no flavor to the meal or salsa or the hotter salsa. Remember when I ordered my special, mine was wrong, I just took the foods I cannot eat. I am one of the strictest critic when it comes to Mexican food. If you haven't been to the Rio Grande Valley Texas or the borders of Mexico.... well good luck is all I have to say when you go out for Mexican Food.

A coworker asked me to meet him here for a margarita which was decent. I got hungry so ordered the enchilada dinner a few tacos and the guacamole I was not impressed at all. The enchiladas were not tasty at all the rice and beans were okay as for the tacos I ordered one chicken, steak and carnitas the chicken was dry I don’t remember what the steak tasted like and the carnitas taco or whatever that was was not good. The food here is very bland and not what I’m used to growing up Mexican. My Mother was an excellent cook who made everything from scratch so I know a thing or two about Authentic delicious tasting Mexican Food. If I return here I will only have the margarita on the rocks other than that I’ll pass.
If you're a burrito love like me do yourself a favor and get the Burrito Grande. Literally one of the best burritos I've ever had. Their Margaritas are top tier as well.

One of the better restaurants in Byron. Food is always great and served quickly. Friendly staff.Parking: The parking has never been great at this location, merely due to the layout. It's been a weird parking lot forever.

Polite staff. But they do not even know whether real cheese is used in the quesadillas- it is not real cheese but rather some kind of "American" which is not actually cheese. It sticks to the inside of your teeth like Velveeta. And the quesadilla is quite small. Also there is no salsa verde such as an authentic Mexican restaurant would serve. The asada is decent but sadly served on inferior tortillas and only one tortilla per taco. They also use the wrong kind of onions.To their credit, the food came out from the kitchen quickly. But don't come here expecting quality food.
This is a hidden gem in Illinois! The food is excellent, great portion sizes and the prices are VERY AFFORDABLE! This is the best Mexican restaurant I've been at I'm a very long time. Definitely a great place to eat!
