I got the smothered chicken dinner. The food was cold. There was no seasoning added at all. The chicken looked like it wasn't done, It was supposed to have been fried before it was smothered and the chicken skin had not even browned it looked white. There were no bell peppers or onions in the gravy, super blan. The dressing was dry and crumbled there were no bell peppers or onions in the dressing either. The sweet potatoes were the worst. There was no butter, no cinnamon, no brown sugar, nothing. They were blan and nasty. They looked like they were prepared in a steam pot and tasted like it to. I was so dissatisfied. It was a waste of twenty dollars. The whole tray was thrown in the trash. I've never had purchased soul food from that was this bad before. The crazy part is that the people were super nice, the cook just needs to be replaced.

I recommend absolutely NOTHING from here. Who says pull up, it'll take 7 mins, and 20 mins later no update, no apology, no nothing. I will never come back and will scream it to everyone I know. Do better.

I gave this place a few tries, one cause I believe it's black owned and I try to support black businesses and I'm not really a sandwich person which is what my associates raved about but my grandmother is so why not. The meatloaf is just a piece of unflavored meat with what seems to be just ketchup on top, baked catfish had no flavor the greens appear to be overcooked and borderline salty spinach. So for sure try those at your own risk!! The batter on the fried Shrimp and catfish were ok, lightly seasoned, u can't really mess up mashed potatoes, I didn't get the gravy I requested so I can't say anything good or bad about the taste of that, the same with the corn, potato salad was blahh and my grandmother did like the corn beef! The staff is ALWAYS pleasant with good customer service which I luv!!
Please do not eat there…. first I bought a chicken dinner baked and when I opened it I had four old wings that was strong smell of sour or had not been properly stored, I tried to ignore the smell and eat it because it cost me twenty dollars with a sweet potato pie on the side, the meat was so bad I couldn’t even eat it, I threw it away in the garbage, I tried calling them and they wouldn’t answer the phone it’s not like they was busy but no respond so I kept calling, I sat at the window and blew my horn because the lady didn’t give me my drink that was a sign of red flag when she asked me if I wanted my drink that I paid for, so not patronized them they don’t care about you they will serve you spoiled food.

BAD ATTITUDE; me and a friend stopped by the DA'S Deli in Calumet City to pickup a pre ordered cornbeef sandwich and the person who came to the window was so RUDE, showed no remorse. In addition, we paid $35, and the cornbeef sandwich had a whole lot of the white fatty meat... the worst cornbeef sandwich I ever bought from there. smh.. I'd rather take a longer ride to another location next time...

I visited on 2/23/24 around 5:45pm, i don't know who was making corned beef sandwiches then but it was terrible!! Too much fat and it was cold very little mustard i asked for extra mustard thee worst experience i spent over 30 dollars for two, 1 pound sandwiches ?, they are usually good but that day disgusting!

The quality of their corn beef is bad. They are serving mostly fat instead of actual meat. I don't recommend as there are much better options available. We need a option of zero stars for places like this.

Tried 2 fried pork chops with mac & fried corn. The pork chops were barely fried, very light in color. Noticed mac & cheese sitting in liquid, it was oil. This place no longer cares about quality of food, will never return.

I just called back to the restaurant because the turkey meatloaf I received was not edible, dried out. The employee listened all while eating and smacking and asked me what did I want her to do about it. I have to own this one, my last experience with their customer service was bad and I returned. NEVER
I’ve been a frequent customer over the last two years and usually the food is ok. However for the last few months, I’ve been experiencing longer wait times and extremely poor food quality. I finally decided to write a review in hopes of an opportunity for improvement. Today I was instructed to park and wait an additional 15mins, for my order. I was hopeful the food would be fresh. Instead I received the picture’d and all of it was horrible.
