Placed an order online and was called an hour later by the restaurant stating that they were canceling my order because they were only taking catered orders. Told me that they would refund the order and that it would take 3-5 business days. I asked the woman why was the online ordering system on if you aren’t taking online orders, she stated “she wasn’t the owner”. Owner or not, you should’ve fulfilled the order especially since you are calling me 1 hour after the order was placed. Then you are telling me 3-5 days for a refund. Extremely unprofessional.

Went here for the first time on Nov 27th prior to coming we ordered the food online . We arrive at the restaurant and the food isn't ready. After almost waiting an hour I asked if we could receive a refund and I was told they don't give refunds. I will never patronize this place again it's ridiculous to refuse a refund to a customer because you are behind a entire hour for an order. I am livid and will NEVER be back. Only thing was said was sorry no extra food no complimentary gift card NOTHING. I hope this business closes due to the lack of professionalism and how I was refused a refund for there bad service . Was excited to see a African spot and try the food, especially loved the name. They guy who takes the orders is super awkward and not very knowledgeable. I asked him where they were from he said Nigeria i asked what part and he said i don know ….???? Ok… The food has a nice flavor but the chicken was extremely dry as if they make it days before and just let it sit. For the prices the food should be fresh in my opinion. The place is really boring and unwelcoming to be a African restaurant. Not to mention i came to grab my food and had my puppy in my hand and he didnt wanna give me my food. I understand the rule…. cool , although its not posted i was literally just coming to grab my bag and leave a 60 sec turn around. This will most likely be my last visit. Id rather drive all the way to the city where the environment and food is more welcoming. Honestly just dont go here all the meat options are so dry they are practically jerky.

I ordered efo riro. First of all very overpriced. For efo riro with 2 pieces of beef I paid $18. The menu said $14. When I went home I was excited to eat efo riro because I looooove it but this was THE WORST EFO RIRO EVEEEEEEEER AND I AM NIGERIAN. it was very salty and over seasoned. I had my sister taste it and she thinks it was spoiled or they used a salty vegetable from the can. I am never going back. HIGHLY DISSAPOINTED

The only thing that sort of irritated me is that the lady said 15-20 mins and it took 30 minutes. Someone who came in after me got their food before mine. I ordered egusi with beef and this had to been the toughest beef I've ever had in my life. I couldn't even poke my fork through it or pull it off with my teeth. The beef tasted gamey or funky. Not like any beef I've tasted. I ate a quarter of the bowl and couldnt anymore. My co-worker liked it, so at least the food didnt go to waste. Besides the meat, the egusi stew was OK. I liked the spinach in the stew. The fried plantains were good.

Horrible! I spent $28 for Egusi soup w/beef and fufu, and the lunch special (chicken and jollof rice) and inedible. The beef was tough. The rice was dry and old. None of the food was fresh. I wasted my money at The Tribe.

I've been to Tribe Kitchen & Grill on several occasions. I'm going to be fair with this review. Prior to yesterday I have always had a good experience with Tribe. The Egusi is always delicious. The fufu is hit of miss. It's either just right of mushy. This is my favorite and only place to get Egusi. Now, yesterday was a different story. I showed up to pick up my order and was given the wrong order. I noticed when I got home that the portion of food was much smaller than normal so I knew it couldn't have been mine. The employee contacted me to apologize for the mix up and ask if I could bring it back. I was more than happy to take it back hoping to get my normal portion of food. He was very nice and apologetic, and I only lived 5 minutes away. When I received my actual order I still was very disappointed. The chicken is not what it issued to be. We used to receive a thigh bug now we receive two flavorless legs. The most disappointing part was how small the order of Egusi was compared to what it used to be. There was barely any Egusi. The two pieces of chicken took over the small bowl, and they just placed Egusi around it. The Egusi was good, however I have to say this will no longer be a restaurant that I patron as I feel like they are not giving you what you pay for anymore. These restaurants are not being honest anymore, everything is a money grab. Please bring back the square dishes with the nice amount of food. These small bowls with about a cup of Egusi is not what we pay for.

I purchased the turkey wing, chicken and rice. As you can see from the photo, the chicken is dried out to the bone. It has to be at least one week old. The turkey is also dried out, chewy and salty. I purchased this food using the Ubereats app. I couldn’t be more disgusted. The owner of this restaurant should be embarrassed to call this food!

We drove almost 2 hrs to this place and when we got there we found out it was only take outs no dine in sitting. It says on google that it has dine in option. Most of the items on their menu were not available either. I was very disappointed as we had to seat in the car to eat before our 2 hrs drive back to Chicago.

I paid a nice amount of money, I ordered the tomato stew, and 2 pieces of meat which was extra, the gave me a container full of white rice, small container of stew which was only tomatoes and spice no other flavor, and a half a piece of fish and a half piece of beef which was to tough to chew, this was a complete Waste of my money! I can't believe you charge me $15 for a container of white rice. Not a good visit at all. The lil stew was so spicy I had to just throw the whole meal away.
