Tried to place a weekly bakery order and was told to check a web site and then dismissed. They did finally direct us to another bakery but missed out on a daily business doughnut and bread order. Not the Cristaudos of the past. Kitch and swag everywhere very small amount of baked goods. Carbondale crazy prices on breakfast items but what cam they do with the taxes there. Loved it when it was in Murdale but won't return to this new location.

Wonderful bakery and restaurant with the most delicious food! And the sweets are so delicious! The prices are amazing for the quality of the product. This is our family's absolute favorite place to go to get a bite to eat and some delicious treats afterwards. They also make excellent coffee and tea! If there's one spot you should stop by in Carbondale, it's Cristaudo's! Words don't do it justice! Try it for yourself and enjoy the bliss of food done right! The smile on his face says it all!

Had an excellent Ham & Cheddar Croissant and stole some of my Dad's breakfast burrito which was perfectly toasted and extremely tasty! Plus, we happened to be there when a group of locals were playing music so it had some wonderful atmosphere going for it too. Will definitely be back again this week while I'm visiting

Cristaudo's is a great treasure in Carbondale. Has live music on occasion. I went and it was a very energetic atmosphere. Has amazing food and coffee.Has somewhat limited seating, for it being a smaller establishment. It was packed with people inside, and others waiting out the door! Also has a gift shop.

Cristaudo's has always been one of my favorite restaurants, even when it was on the West side of town. In middle school, I used to ride my bike to the Life Community Center and swim, then ride to Cristaudo's and get sandwiches and treats with my friends after. I was so happy when they opened in the middle of town and I loved going to music events there, getting presents in the gift shop area, and eating their quiche and baklava. And I have always thought they had the best cake decorating game in the area. The past few times I have gone in have been sour, though. I have tried to go in on many occasions with Cristaudo's being closed; disappointing, but as my favorite, I am understanding. Then I had heard some back and forth about only being open for certain things like cake orders, then take out, then back to orders.I went in over the summer hoping for some breakfast, asked if they were serving breakfast and the person was so rude and demeaning to my friend and I for asking such a question--kind of like "why would you ask such a stupid question?" I didn't say this, but because the store is not really reliable on when it is open and what it offers. Turns out they only had drinks so we left and went elsewhere.Today, another friend and I went in, hoping they might have quiche. I said "are you all serving food?" The worker seemed upset by me asking this and said something like "we are serving deli to go but you can eat it here" and I said that sounded contradictory. They clarified by speaking louder like one does when they think someone is dumb--there would be no service but I could eat the food wherever I wanted and then immediately turned their back to me. I decided I did not want to ask any further questions with this person and not to eat there. I just felt like any questions I had about the menu would be met with even more hostility.I spoke to a couple friends about this and something similar happened to them over the summer when they went in to get ice cream sandwiches from Local Lore Ice Cream. The person they dealt with "acted like we were stupid when we asked about ice cream." And the worker was overall unfriendly and the food was dry.I am not sure what kind of ambiance or space Cristaudo's is trying to create, but it has shown to be consistently uncomfortable and hostile.Parking: Parking is available in the back and can be accessed from Walnut Street or from the alley between the Leather Place and the Tobacco Place. There is also street parking in the front by City Hall.

Not only does Cristaudo’s have THE BEST baked goods, but the atmosphere is so warm and inviting, they feature local art and handmade goods, they are socially conscious and are constantly supporting the local community, and they have a solid selection of vegan, vegetarian, and GF options. This is always my go-to!

Cristaudo's is another one of our Carbondale institutions. The famous pink cookie (and the cookie shaped like the state of Illinois, with the maroon dot showing where Carbondale is) are Cristaudo inventions. This location is one of many Cristaudo's has had in town over the decades. This particular space was once a gift shop, so this particular iteration of Cristaudo's also has an attached gift shop (6 Pence). It's a bakery/coffee shop/restaurant/good servant of and for the Carbondale community.

Usually a 5 star but not today. I get to come once a year for my bday. Love this place. Manager/Owner is exceptional, however the lady making the coffee drinks was so rude to us started our day off horrible. Other than that the food and other people there are wonderful. Owner really needs to take a look at her employees and how she talks to her customers though. ?
