Not a bad winery, grapes are grown on the premises. The wines were a miss for me, I did not care for them. David, the owner and our wine tasting host, is very knowledgeable and friendly. The winery is quaint and cute.

We found this lovely vineyard by accident while visiting family. I loved everything about it. The music on the background, the service, the wine and the view. So small, cozy and romantic. Now we'll have to stop by every time we visit.

We met David and his family at a Red Rose Ball in Marion. They were such an inspirational family. Upon meeting them we felt so blessed. On occasion we have stopped at their winery and enjoyed purchasing a few bottles of the best tasting wines of our area. When entering the doors , until departure , you will feel you are in the comfort of your home. Fabulous wines as well as hospitality!

We went for my bachelorette party, they did so well pairing us with wines we would enjoy and then they hooked us up with a free glass after. It was the highlight of the trip and we really appreciated the extra hospitality

This was our first time here and it is super quaint with a great location. The staff is super nice and personable. Robin was great and took time to walk us through all of the wines, you can even see where they make the wines through a window in the lobby. All of the wines were fantastic and I would definitely recommend stopping in here if you haven't before!

My husband and I visited Monte Alegre and enjoyed it! With COVID restrictions, we were not able to do a tasting but the staff was very welcoming and informative on the bottles for sale. We bought a bottle of rosé and walked the grounds, a quiet, lovely afternoon.
I have been in many vineyards and never have such a good experience as in this one. Owner was very friendly, easy to talk to and knowledgeable. We only bought one bottle because we already had few bottles of wine from others winerys in our trunk. Highly recommed Monte Alegre Vineyard

Great time at this small winery, Sangria was great. All wine with some fresh fruit. No sugary juices. We’ll be back!

A fantastic stop along the Southern Illinois wine trail. It's a slower paced place with lots of space to let your thoughts wander. David is a wonderful host and teaches you about his wine and his life's experiences. Not at commercial feeling as some of the more established places but neither was grandmas house. Enjoy the wine and scenery. Dog and kid friendly. Bring outside food if you need more to eat than just snack food.

All of the wines were smooth and the tasting was presented very well. The wines were also very reasonably priced.

Very nice tasting with very thought out transitions between the different wines. The owner was very friendly and professional.
