Big shout out to Grand Marais Lighthouse restaurant owner, cook, and hostesses on yesterday (January 14) for opening their doors to accommodate my sister, Georgette's birthday dinner. Were they was going to close because of weather, staffing and shortage of food due to a big party the night before they opened their doors for us. Food was delicious with only 1 cook, service was exceptional with only 2 hostesses and they got all our orders correct in a timely matter. I thank you for your hospitality and everything you did to make our eating experience great. Can't wait to get Soul Food Sunday back because my church, North End M.B.Church, 463 N. 88th Street, E. I went to a Sunday Soul Food boufet here. The food was delicious and I made my plate to go. I was permitted to get whatever I wanted. Nice atmosphere.Wheelchair accessibility: Most definitely.
This is the first restaurant I visit EVERY time I go home. One time, my mom and I ate at the restaurant, the food was hot until the very last bite!! The last time, I called at 7:58pm to order 3 plates. Although they were closing the kitchen at 8 pm, the young lady took my order. The only problem was... I should have ordered 5 plates. Everybody wanted hot, crispy, tasty fried fish after I picked up my order. My next visit will include bringing a bunch of people with me so they can get their own delicious fish, oh, and sides!

The food is good and the service is great. It was hot as hell is expected to be. Someone visiting the waitresses was chatting with them and had the fan turned directly on them. I finally asked if the fan could be shared, being that it was so hot. Also, there were flies....flies....and more flies. I pray I don't get a 3rd World disease from this place. I couldn't tolerate it, so I took my food to go.
