Nothing fresh here, no flavor, no authenticity. Entirely bland dishes. Maybe this kind of food is what people in Central Illinois like otherwise I would have not the slightest idea how these positive reviews came about

Probably the worst Mexican food I've ever had. Stale chips, bland salsa, beans and rice. The mole looked like something the cat brought back up, and tasted as bad as it looked. The chicken under the mole resembled a smashed chip of some kind---flat, brittle, and tasteless as well. Fish tacos had a crumbled teaspoon of fish in each taco mixed with potatoes as filler! wow. really? I didn't expect much based on the lazy kid greeting people as we walked in, so was not surprised. At least I know where the bottom is. I don't understand the positive reviews. Probably drunk locals. Clearly this place is as bad as it gets.

This review is for ElPatio alcohol drinks. I ordered a piñacoladá the Bartender was a nice guy and served me a 42oz frozen drink. As I watched him make my drink I saw that he only poured 2oz of tequila in the mixer. That said the frozen drink was not what I expected. Not sure if he knows how to properly mix liquor ratio. My bill for one drink ended up being $16.99!! Wow. Overpriced! Worst of all, I could not taste any liquor, just straight up sugar. Just a heads up guys don’t purchase any mixed drinks there, I would recommend going somewhere else for drinks.

We wanted a restaurant with outdoor seating and El Patio had tables outside. The staff was prompt and friendly. The Mexican food at this place is the real deal. Absolutely delicious. Not greasy, lean, delicious meat, spiced perfectly. We each made two meals out of our dinner.

This is a family run place. Like most towns of this size there are A LOT of Mexican style restaurants to choose from. El Patio is not terrifically different than most but after three or four visits I have felt as though the food is better than many others in town. The hand made tortillas are worth asking for. Service is good and very friendly. Prices are very reasonable, similar to the others, but again I feel the food is higher quality enough that it's worth riding over there to eat. Indoor or outdoor seating options are available. The margaritas are better than many other places also!

Went for lunch today with my daughter. We loved everything!! Service was excellent and the food was delicious. We had cheese dip, shrimp fajitas, and the veggie fajita quesadilla. Everything had so much flavor and the salsa was really good too! If you like some heat, get the homemade hot sauce. The only negative was that it was so cold in the restaurant. It is by far our new favorite Mexican restaurant in the Champaign area.
