Nice enough. Ribs are smoked nicely and have good flavor, but not super tender. I would like them better if they put BBQ sauce on and finished them under the broiler. Also had pulled pork sandwich which was nice but the bbq sauce was too salty to eat. Luckily it was on the side. The cinnamon sugar on the sweet potato fries was a surprise to us. Not our cup of tea. We got take out so nothing was very hot, but that is on us.Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level. No steps. Sorry I didn't notice if the front door (glass) had a push button to open.

This is more like a 4.5 BBQ joint. Food was really good, just nothing that made it stand apart. Don't get me wrong... Everything was delicious! Giving them a ding for the suggested tip of 20% or higher at a self serve restaurant. Seriously? You order at a window, pickup your food at the food window, and make your own drinks.

Spent $30 for a Smokehouse 2 combo. All they did for sauce is put a ladle over the center and drizzle the sauce over the center of the meat. Except for the center, all the Meats were dry because no sauce was brushed on them. Brisket was sliced on top of one another so that meat was almost all dry. If you want good Hickory River, go to the Urbana location. Must better value. I won't be going back to this location again. So sad because this location is probably 10 miles closer to my house.

I picked up my food and it was ready on time, nice and hot. The only thing i didn't like was the potato salad.
How do you get fries wrong. Not trying to bash the restaurant but I ordered fries, I love bbq didn't smell smoke and that's unusual for a smokehouse again not trying to bash because I didn't have bbq thanks but no thanks.

Went to the new Hickory River in West Champaign tonight for the first time. Honestly, I didn't even realize that they had built one out there. It was excellent food as always, and the atmosphere was also very well executed. Staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely returning, and if you're out and about, it's more than worth the visit.
