We stopped in here Saturday and had Brian as our server. All I can say is WOW! You ensured our kids enjoyed their dinner experience, and us parents enjoyed it too! The food was amazing and the service from Brian was top notch! Everyone was very welcoming from the second we got there until the moment we left. The kids also enjoyed the salad bar and the ice cream for dessert. We live 45 minutes away but will definitely be back! The exceptional service is worth the drive.Kid-friendliness: Kids had more fun talking to Brian than to us! They loved it.

Great food, ribeyes served on a hot iron skillet. Salad bar loaded with great selections. ILLINI nostalgia throughout. Fast and friendly staff. I've never had a bad experience at tge Ribeye!

We went for the Monday night special. The service was good, the salad bar was goo, the bread was good and the wine was good. We each had an 8 ounce steak cooked to medium rare. For a restaurant called The Rib Eye we were extremely disappointed in the steaks. They were both tough and not very tasty.

Went there because of friend recommendation. Disappointed because we ordered medium rare, got medium. Texture is very tough. Service is good and quick

The steak I had was so good when I was in town that I had it 3 nights in a row. I will definitely be there the next time I am in the area. I sat at the bar and had great service all 3 nights! The ambiance was a typical bar noise not too loud.

Awful experience, horrible fat small ribeye steaks, tables were 75% empty at 530pm and the manager told us we all have to wait because they are saving all the tables for 6pm reservations, ridiculous, never seen anything like it, then I tell manager why make everyone wait since most tables are open and she kept saying they are all saved for 6pm or later reservations so about 15 people that want to eat and are there now in the lobby have to wait, insane! Then she gave us a table and said we have to eat in 30 minutes, she then walked over literally at 6pm gave me the check and said we have to go, worst manager I have ever dealt with, so we finished paid and left. As we were walking out the door a man said out loud that was awful and I agreed, he said it is new ownership and they have cut corners with food quality which was obvious with the awful steaks and now take reservations which they never used to it used to be first come first serve. Awful experience and steaks and I will never go to The Ribeye again, you have lost a customer and if you keep treating people this way you continue to lose more and more customers!!

We’ve been in the area about 6 months and, given an opportunity to celebrate a birthday and Valentine’s Day, we set out to find a place. Happened upon The Ribeye as an option to get some steak that wasn’t quite as expensive as some of the others listed, and hopefully have a decent time.To say our expectations were met would be an understatement. A fun, college-themed interior with enough intimacy to feel personal; a helpful staff (our server, Brian, was among the best I’ve ever seen - spoken from a former server myself); the surprisingly delicious and ample-optioned salad bar (get the house dressing); and, lest we forget the main event, the first ribeye of my 34 year tenure on earth (get the added mushrooms, they’re worth it). We’ll be back. So should you.

I’ve been to the Ribeye twice and both times were great experiences. The salad bar is one of the best salad bars you will find. I recommend getting a ribeye for your first time, but everyone also raves about their chicken. Their menu has many great options, and perhaps the best part of The Ribeye is their service. Both times we had great servers. We were given a complimentary anniversary Sunday dessert on our last visit. Highly recommend!

One of the best fine dining restaurants in central Illinois. Twice bake potato is worth the trip by itself. Also one of the best salad bars anywhere in the country.

Delighted that we stopped in. There is not a better salad bar in all of Illinois.

we went to the ribeye for our 21 anniversary with a gift card our give us a couple of years ago, we was told they wouldn't honor it because the ribeye was under new ownership and there is nothing they could do. a place like the ribeye cant afford to refund $50 ?
