Finally tried this place and got the chirashi bowl and several nigiri pieces. The sashimi apps were quite good as well. Fish overall tasted quite fresh and similar in quality with the top sushi spots in the city. The service was quite bad, I went in the mid-afternoon and was essentially the only table and the waiters were busy on their phones and ignored me. Also the price is quite high for this part of town and essentially being in a dirty food court. So come here only if u care about food and does not need any ambiance.Kid-friendliness: No high chairs

The sushi was amazing. However, it was freezing in that place in the middle of February, and they didn't sell any type of soup, miso or any otherwise.

2023 update: our first experience with the sushi here was impressive, but we have since ordered a few more times and I have to say that the food has been inconsistent. It's not bad and it's still a good value (esp. the party trays) , but it also hasn't lived up to that first tray the last few times we tried it. YMMV.Original review:Super friendly and helpful staff, fast delivery, and amazing sushi. Great value, too. My wife and I have lived in South Loop for years and have tried probably a dozen sushi restaurants in the area. This one is a little far from us so we didn't try it until today, but we were blown away by how tasty it was, especially given the affordable pricing and laid-back vibe.We got the Roll Out platter for ourselves and some friends. It's an incredible value for the amount of sushi included, and every roll was delicious. Fish portions were large and very fresh. A substantial part of the platter is "spicy" rolls which I was a little worried about - many sushi places grind up the meat into a mushy paste mixed with who-knows-what, but not here. These were easily the best spicy tuna, spicy salmon and spicy yellowtail rolls I've ever had - they're good-sized bits of quality meat mixed with a delicious spicy mayo sauce. No meat paste. They were delightful.Anyway, we may have found a new favorite sushi spot. I just wish we had tried it sooner!

Incredible micro restaurant sushi inside a busy Chinese grocery store. A ton of fun, and the fish is remarkably well prepared. Very few places pay attention to the shape of the nigiri and the consistency of the fish cuts. But Chef Joe Fung does, and he is certainly a rising star. I wish I had discovered him earlier. The Salmon flight, the Midai sashimi set, and the Japanese flight are some of the best value sushi in Chicago. Negi Toro was something I’d never had before, but it’s incredible. Believe it or not this might be the place I recommend anyone from out of town goes to get sushi in Chicago. It’s that good. The atmosphere is the only negative, because it’s instead of grocery store, but what he’s able to do with seafood is extraordinary.Parking: It’s inside a grocery store so there’s a ton of parking.Kid-friendliness: It’s an easy place to eat with strollers.

Food is average. But the whole place is quite dirty. We were there a Saturday lunch time when they just opened up. The second we sat down we saw the menu on the center of our table, it was still wet with sauce stains on it. Not sure where was it coming from since we were the first table. And there were many different stains from different times. Then it brought to my attention that the water pitcher and the napkin case were both very dirty and covered with old greasy sauce stain. I was actually a little bit uncomfortable sitting there. All in all it felt really like eating in a food court but paying the price for a decent restaurant.

I love this place so much that every time I forget to take many photos cuz I'm so eager to dive into the sushi. I am a huge sushi lover, and I have to say this is the BEST SUSHI PLACE in Chinatown area. I highly recommend their DOUBLE TROUBLE. All the fish is extremely fresh, flavorful, and melts in your mouth. I always had trouble finding places that served good squid/ika, but theirs gets sweeter and slimier the more you chew! Seriously, they serve REAL SUSHI.Service and ambience are chill and awesome!
