I have been coming to Amitabul for years now, and every person I've ever brought there has absolutely loved it. Beyond the great food, the vibrational energy of this place is so incredibly peaceful and grounding. The food is so healthy but also flavorful and gives you that "feel good" feeling on the inside. I just bought a jar of the kimchi they have for sale and it was hands-down the best kimchi I've ever had. I've been making kimchi jiggae with it all week, and it is what inspired me to finally leave a review for one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago.

Came with my Vegetarian Aunt for lunch. I'm not well schooled in vegan cooking. Tried the entree The Dark Side of the Moon which has 2 kinds of mushrooms and lots of veggies over rice noodles with a black bean miso sauce. And YUM!! Loved it! Will take her back there and try more of the menu.

This place was awesome! I didn't have to worry about fish ingredients a lot of Asian restraunts use, and they had gluten-free options as well! Consider rounding down your spice level if you aren't sure, because I got medium and wow! So good, though. The atmosphere is so peaceful.Vegetarian options: 100% vegan

After moving away from Chicago, this is the restaurant I miss the most. I used to go here a lot when I lived in the city! Chef Bill is so friendly and kind, and the food and atmosphere are amazing. The kimchi pancakes, the Dr. K’s soup, and the bibimbap are just a few of my favorites! I can’t wait to go back next time I visit!!

From the original Jim’s Grill to Southport and now here. Simply the best food in all respects. For vegetarians. People subscribe to meals from this place.

Amitabul in Chicago offers a unique experience with its vegan Buddhist-inspired dishes. The menu, rooted in plant-based goodness, showcases creativity and mindfulness. While the food is a standout, the service falls short, leaving room for improvement in ensuring a more delightful dining experience.

Excellent healthy vegan Korean food. Most dishes are prepared without oil. Make sure to bring cash to receive a discount.

As a Jefferson Park native, the surrounding neighborhoods have a needed this restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is peaceful. If you’re not Vegan, cool, but still give this food a try. It’s money well spent.
