First time trying AMORE. We ordered for takeout and the sushi was really fresh, however, the portions were extremely small. The gyoza was tasty, but we were only given 3 small pieces (typically 6 pieces of gyoza are standard at comparable sushi spots). Overall, 3.9 stars. We ordered $60 of fresh sushi for two people but we are still hungry! So might have to try another place next time.

I’ve had a lot of take out sushi and generally is either great or just okay. This was the first bad sushi I’ve had in Chicago. The color of the fish was off and did not taste right. A simple roll like spicy tuna was inedible. Even the edamame had a weird flavor and was half cooked. But hey the Gyoza was at least good. I would never order from here again.

Awesome veggie maki rolls. I’m usually very hesitant to try new places because I love my regular spot but I’m so glad I did. The lunch special prices are amazing. Cant recommend enough.Update: if I could eat here every day, I would. One of my new favorite restaurants in the entire city.

We got the Snowing Ramen and a Cubs Roll (cute presentation). The food was good and the atmosphere comfortable and cozy. Service was attentive without being annoying. The owner even came up and introduced himself to us. We will go there again.Dietary restrictions: Our friend who can't eat gluten, dairy, peanuts or eggs was able to find several options on the menu.

I had the pleasure of dining @ Amore Sushi House when I was in Chicago recently visiting with family. From our welcome to our departure, what a fantastic dining experience! And the food - so many amazing choices & all fabulous. I decided this was the time to try Miso Ramen. I chose the vegan preparation & it was phenomenal... Look forward to future dining experiences here when I return to Chicago. ?

This place left me thoroughly unimpressed with its food. Despite the positive reviews, I decided to give it a shot, but the experience was quite disappointing.Honestly, if I were on the Asian or West Coast, this spot would deserve a solid 0-star rating. Maybe a generous 2 stars in Chicago, but that's pushing it. Everything just seems off.First off, why am I served a miso ramen with such a thick layer of fat? That's not how it's supposed to be. And the karaage chicken was essentially frozen popcorn chicken with no real meat to speak of. Even the sushi was on par with what I could easily grab from any Asian market. To add insult to injury, they automatically included a 20% tip on my bill for a family of three, and then asked me to pay tips again on the console. This alone prompted me to leave this review.Overall, a regrettable dining experience that I won't be repeating.
