I wanted to like this place because of the cute aesthetic, but the barista at the bar shoo’ed my friend and I out within minutes of finding somewhere to sit. We were finishing a conversation and planned on buying some coffee and the barista very aggressively told us “I don’t know how to be more explicit. You can either get some coffee or leave.” I think it’s important to mention that we were in the shop for less than 5 minutes and very much planned on getting coffee, just wanting to finish a conversation first (a very sensitive one at that). It’s unfortunate that he lost two customers today who really love coffee because he was having a bad day. Embarrassing for him.

A neighborhood coffee shop is a staple in every neighborhood, and this couldn’t be a better one! Great service, friendly owners, and amazing hand crafted coffee! Lots of love in this place and it shows through the coffee and atmosphere! Cannot recommend the speciality coffees enough, there is nothing bad on the menu!

Teeny place with an even teenier menu. Had a teen working the counter and while he was very sweet, he had no idea how to work food service.

I was pleasantly surprised by Bae coffee shop! I preemptively judged the aesthetic but the inside is very welcoming and the barista was really nice and friendly. Seems to be a great community spot with some great coffee.

The music is on point. You can receive an Ethiopian pour-over (IFYKYK and omg). The owners are mega knowledgable and truly care about your tastes. Five stars if you're into independently owned shops, a feeling of community, original lattes, and are delighted by the color pink. Also, pastries.

Cozy, has chosen a vibe and owned it completely and successfully, great coffee, good outlets. No Wi-Fi on the weekend FYI.
I’d had an unfortunate chai experience before and this morning I decided to give it another shot for a cup of coffee. Got cappuccino with oat milk which was way too acidic to drink (pretty much sour), which usually happens with cheap or improperly heated oatmilk. The whole milk version that my friend had was slightly better but still not great.Everything about the interior feels like the ‘bare minimum’ and the place doesn’t feel properly maintained. Dirty windows, stained walls etc. the same warnings written on blue tape since I’d been there months ago. As opposed to the chic/girlie vibe it aspires to, all details feel uncared for and sloppy. The staff was nice and that was about it.

At Bae yesterday, I bought coffee beans from the most knowledgeable and honest person I've ever spoken with about coffee - the barista and owner of Bae! He also made us such a delicious mochaccino that we wound up ordering a second one. I hope he opens a spot near us in West Town. By the way, they do have pastries, they're just hard to spot at the far end of the counter. Didn't try them myself, but they look good.
