Cozy lobby bar with roaring 20s inspired esthetics and amazing cocktails. I enjoyed the inventive smoked version of 'old fashioned'.

Quick service at 5p, no happy hour, typical Chicago prices but tasty old fashioned.

They destination fee is ridiculous at $28 per day! Much higher than other chains and it's only for 2 bottles of water but there is no housekeeping. Their internet is the slowest of any hotel I have ver stayed in the entire world. Much slower than a roadside motel. Business travelers beware of extremely slow, sluggish internet.

I highly recommend the Allegro, and it certainly has become my favorite hotel to stay in for work trips to Chicago. The location is great, super convenient by train from O'hare with its location on the Loop for only a few bucks. The staff is great and the hotel has all the services you need. The hotel has a great fitness center, a beautiful lobby, and a morning coffee bar. And a Starbucks right next door doesnt hurt either.

Best hotel bar ever with plenty of sitting area, and is not only for guests of the hotel. The staff is so nice and they give you a lot of suggestions of things to do around the area. También hablan español! The times on Google Maps are wrong, they're open every day 4pm to 11pm

A huge THANK YOU to Monica at the front desk. She was professional, positive, helpful and pleasant. I don't recall the names of other fantastic front desk staff, nor do I recall the name of one front desk staff who was negative and unhelpful. There are many things to like about the hotel. Excellent location, comfortable bed, lobby decor and bar. The room was on the small side, but that's to be expected in an older, large city hotel. One night the neighbors were very noisy until 1 am. The walls are thin. But we stayed for 4 nights and all other nights were quiet. For these reasons I would consider returning One huge negative that will definitely keep me from recommending until the policy is changed is the $28/night mandatory fee. The hotel is clear about the fee. It covers things that should be included such as 2 bottles of water PER STAY, not night, wifi, fitness center, coffee and tea in lobby. Since it's a mandatory fee, why not add it to the room cost? I can't opt out of I don't drink the coffee, tea, water, use my own data or skip the fitness center. Since it's a per day fee, why can't I get the bottled water per day? Housekeeping is only one per 3-nights, unless you request it. These Covid rules are no longer necessary and only adding to the hotels profits and not the guests' needs and must stop. Just charge me one price, give me housekeeping and charge me extra for any amenities I do choose to use. The price and fee model of this hotel is a reason I won't return

Worst and most expensive stay ever in Chicago. Paid over 640 USD per night. Cleaning only every 3rd day. Breakfast not included and the connecting breakfast restaurant was bad as well. Breakfast buffet did not include yogurt, cheese, or any kind ham or cold meat cuts. I asked for cheese and the reply every day was that they did not have any more. Realized that I paid an additional 28 USD every day extra for a coffee/tea buffet in the reception area in the morning, which I never used anyway. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. The cab driver that took me to the airport also mentioned that this is one of the worst hotels in Chicago and they keep changing the name of the hotel - maybe to avoid bad reviews.

This will become my go-to hotel for work trips to Chicago. It is in a great location in the Loop, has very welcoming staff, and nice little rooms. Yes the rooms are a little small but they have everything you need.. The hotel has a great fitness center, a beautiful lobby, and a morning coffee bar. I highly recommend!

From the first step into the the lobby I felt welcome. The reception staff in particular responded to my wish to change room immediately although the hotel was booked entirely on an exceptional busy weekend. When a technical issue emerged in my room it was solved immediately. I would definitely stay at the Allegro again.

Not impressed. For the price we paid and how little time was spent in room. Very small room; and each guest is charged an additional DAILY fee for “complimentary” bottled water, Wi-Fi, “free” coffee, and the gym (that wasn’t used). How are they free or complimentary when I’m actually footing the bill for it? I was so looking forward to our trip to Chicago but all I could think about was how much I paid for this hotel. Lesson learned! I gave it two stars because the room was clean and for being in the city, we had a nice peaceful sleep.

The front desk agent, Heath Jain was charming, efficient, accommodating and a delight to speak with! She even helped me with phone call before we cameThis has an important effect when you first enter the lobby desk. The rest of the staff was very, very nice, as well. Rooms were comfortable and had updated bathroom. We did dine a t 321Chicago the beautiful newly renovated hotel restaurant. Excellent waitstaff good food. I must say for the price, the Haddock ($34) was a plate of parchment paper with the fish about 3" X2 1/2", with a sparse sparkling of tiny mushrooms & about 4-5 French green beans. Without the parchment paper, his could have been served on a small luncheon plate! No bread was offered until we asked. Dong as directed, I'm sure, they said "Oh we can put in an order for you". My pork chop was overcooked. The beet salad (about $17) was maybe 6 or very small, bitesize beets with garnish, hardly shareable, we did ask. Mashed potatoes were very good. I gave my husband half because his plate was so skimpy. Tirimisu was a good portion and delicious.

Despite the small room we had at this historic hotel, the staff more than made up for any issue! The doorman, Chuck Webster, was incredible kind and considerate with a visitor from California, going above and beyond to help with a disabled sister and service dog. His reassuring calm and suggestions for navigating the area were invaluable. The desk and restaurant staff were also marvelous, and the Allegro should be very proud for there top notch customer service!

The lobby is the high point. The staff were nice, too. But the room was small, the gym had one exercise bike that was broken, the elevators were broken, the bathroom was tiny. I’d stay here if it was a cheap spot, but it doesn’t live up to an upper mid tier hotel.
