Awesome local and historical location. It really takes you back to the old days in Chicago. Hidden under the road, you'd think it was a dive bar or shady hang out place but when you enter you see the great history all over the walls. Burgers were tasty and bathrooms were impressive given the location.The ONLY reason I say 4 stars for service is because I visited this place from out of town (not from Chicago) and because I know of his place from comedy tv in my youth I was expecting the yell out "cheeseburger! cheeseburger! cheeseburger!" but didn't get it. I was just a touch disappointed with that. I did get the "no fries! Chips!" So that helped!Overall it was a lot of fun!
Sorry for asking for fries, but what is it with the midwest men, (like the guy behind the counter taking orders.) "Where's the meat"! Think the problem with you guys is no meat to please the ladies so you got to be short and rude to them. I mean since you've never pleased one with your own meat or your burger.

How can you not like this iconic spot. Burgers are always great. No fries, chips.
I think the its great. The atmosphere is very authentic. Just like you imagine old America. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. Of course there are better burgers in the world, but that's not the point, it's the location. And since the burgers are still pretty tasty and even quite cheap for a tourist hotspot, I'm giving it 5/5 stars because it's simply a fair place.

Iconic Chicago institution. Fast, friendly, and curt service. Prices pretty low for 2024. Easy seating, one of a kind atmosphere. It definitely felt like going back in time to Old Chicago. That said, they did accept cards / mobile phone payment.
