FINALLY GOT TO TRY. I remember when I first heard of this place, they were just a stand inside Revival Food Hall. Im super happy they have their own brick and mortar now!!! The restaurant is very intimate and small inside. The menu isnt that big either so we ended up ordering the entire menu except the sides and the fish entree and it was the right amount of food for 4 people to share. Everything came out in a timely manner and was plated nicely. My fav dishes were the sisig and the liempo (pork belly)!

I was not expecting such a fancy Filipino place when I got there. The ambiance and service were definitely top notch, with the server explaining the components of the food we ordered. My wife and I ordered kare-kare, and sisig. I thought both were incredibly expensive for the quantity we got. The taste and texture were satisfying. Just on price alone though I wouldn't go back.

I finally made it in to @boonieschicago ! Tocilog was so tasty that I wish there was MOAR! Service was very friendly. We went right when they opened, so empty restaurant. We were asked if we made a reservation (for 3 at 11:15 on a Friday morning?!?) - we did not, but there was plenty of seating. Will come back sometime for dinner, as that's the only time they offer Sisig and Bagnet.

The tocilog, longanisa, and halo halo were so good! Also recommend the sweet bloom matcha latte. Definitely will be taking visitors here when they come visit us in Chicago!

Decided to check out Boonies for my birthday lunch with my wife and they made me feel so special! Food was delicious (had tocilog and side of longonisa sausage patty), drinks hit the spot, and halo halo was exactly what I wanted! There were also a couple surprises along the way and they really made me feel welcome. I'll be back with friends!

Tried to manage my expectations going in because of the hype but WOW. Flavors and presentation blew me out of the water. Really fair prices for what you're getting and absolutely delicious. Warm, moody interior and fantastic service were the icing on the cake. Go here.

Boonie's has been on my bookmarked list of restaurants for awhile but it was always closed whenever it came to mind. We finally found time to go for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and snagged a reservation thankfully. After we were seated there were a bunch of couples and families who had to wait or were turned away because the restaurant was fully booked for lunch (closes at 2 PM, last seating at 1:30 PM). We ordered the following and shared: tapsilog(marinated ribeye), tocilog (marinated pork belly), and lumpiang Shanghai(fried pork egg rolls). Hubby and I also split a black sesame latte. The tapsilog and tocilog both came with garlic rice and a sunny side up egg. Everything was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our food. I preferred the tapsilog over the tocilog since it was more flavorful and the tocilog was oily. The black sesame latte was decent but the black sesame was clumpy at the bottom of the cup. Service was average given that it was pretty busy. The bathrooms were unkept and the garbage was overflowing. The floor (and toilet) was also wet so it kind of grossed me out a bit. Overall, the food and atmosphere was good and can't wait to come back to try more of the menu!

Easily the best meal I've had in 2024 so far. I haven't had much access to Filipino food so I was very excited to try this place and I definitely wasn't disappointed. An interesting and tasty blend of Japanese, Pacific Islander and American food, with its own unique flavors. The lamb shank was on of the best things I've ever eaten. Our server was a bit lackluster when we were there but the other serve staff made up for it completely. It's also byob with a nominal cork fee, but if you order one drink they wavev the fee.

Food was delicious, would recommend try it out. My top favorites would have to be the Lumpiang and pork belly. Make sure you try both desserts at the end, they pair so well together. Service was great, food came out very promptly. The vibe of this place reminds me being in my grandma's kitchen, very cozy and comfortable setting. I'd recommend to bring a bottle of wine or beer(byob). Best of luck to Chef Joe Fontelera in his James Beard nomination for Best Chef in Great Lakes 2024.

Exquisite Filipino food that tastes like actual Filipino food! I am so happy that they didn't "fancy up" the flavors, no weird fusions. We loved our dinner experience, and every dish we got was great, especially the sisig and the garlic rice. Our server, Christine, was excellent.

Highly recommend Boonie's! Celebrated an anniversary with my partner here on Friday and the wait staff couldn't have been kinder. They made us feel special with a warm welcome and a handwritten card from staff. The food was delicious too. We had the Lumpiang Shanghai, Sizzling Sisig, Pancit Canton as starters, Lamb Shank Balbacua (newer item on the menu), and the Laing (taro leaves). Everything was delicious, would recommend the sisig and laing in particular (though you can't go wrong!).Will be coming back again for sure!
