Been planning atrip to Chicago and specifically, the Broken Shaker since 2019. Visited today for my husband's birthday and Jay, the waitress, tended to every table around us, except for our table. She went back and forth from the table to our right to the table on our left, back and forth, the entire time, never once greeting us, nor asking to take our order. After an hour of sitting there, we finally got her attention. Of which, she threatened us by saying she'd get her manager. We waited for the manager and they never showed up. I've been waiting all of these years and have raved about this place to so many family, friends and colleges for this to be the way things have turned out. If you're thinking about going here, STAY AWAY!!!!

Hi Bye

Ambiance was really cool but be wary of ordering a off menu drink- $19 vodka cran? Doesn’t seem like it was worth that much.

Interesting drinks (albeit all pretty sweet), decent quesadilla to share. Excellent lounging space. Music volume could definitely be turned down a couple notches.

The drink I had was excellent! The flavors blended together perfectly. The service was absolutely terrible for a place of this caliber. Waited over 15 minutes for a server to come over, ordered drinks and was advised that they were doing last call in 15 minutes at 11:30 (posted closing time was 1am). Server asked us if we wanted to close or run a tab. We left it open, another woman brought it back closed out at 1130 and told us it was too late to order anything else. The 2nd server was also missing a front tooth and seemed to be high on drugs or something. Questionable at best

Narrative: Work Trip to Chicago in June. I had a craving for a good burger and cocktail and this place was close to my hotel. Food: So I was intrigued by their Happiest Meal special. If you asked me to find a burger that represented what a typical American burger should be, this burger would be it. It was like a Big Mac, if a Big Mac tasted absolutely amazing. I still think about that burger. So good. Drinks: This place gives off high end tiki bar vibes but doesn't fully embrace the kitsch of one. Basically, you can get some very unique drinks while also falling back on the mainstays of any classy bar if orgeat and falernum make you nervous. They utilized a lot of house-made bitters and syrups which elevated the drinks. Aesthetic: This place was unique. It looked like visiting my grandparents house if they never updated it since 1960. Definitely a walk back into a different time. Cozy, spacious, and lots of corners to enjoy a good drink and conversations. Service: Hit or miss. The guy in the back bar had no clue about the drink of the day or food specials that the website talked about. I was about to walk out but then asked at the front bar. The lady their was much more knowledgeable about what I was looking for and served me. Price: The Happiest Meal Burger is a happy hour special and comes at a very good price, especially being found in downtown Chicago. Drinks are standard to what you will find at other bars downtown Why You Should Go: That amazing burger!!!

Amazing cocktails and service with a warm and romantic vibe. Try the pisco sour. Perfectly perfect.

Such a cute bar and lounge. Sabrina was so very kind and made us a drink we had never heard of before. Absolutely nailed the flavors we like and we have a new favorite cocktail. She was so friendly and fun to chat with. Thanks :)

The staff here was amazing!I had a difficult experience with another customer and literally the whole staff tried to make it better. If you are a woman on your own, just know that the staff at the bar will make an effort to protect you and ensure your comfort. Huge shoutout to Melissa, Roger and Cesár for the top tier customer service!! I would recommend this bar to anyone in Chicago for the first time!

Great place to grab a drink. Options for everyone, including mocktails. The space is super cute and somewhat kitchy, which is a good thing. The music could be a little quieter so people could talk. The volume was more along the lines of what you'd find at a club.

5 star atmosphere. 5 star bar service and 5 star food! We came to Chicago for a weekend visit and stayed at this fancy hotel but some how ended up at this one. Glad it was recommended. I had a super strong delish drink and a cheese quesadilla enough to keep me going for a long night. This place is a total vibe.
