Delicious kothu and flaky paratha! The gulab jaman was the best way to finish the meal. Love the clean and bright interior!

Cafe Nova is a MUST try. Get the curry plate so you can taste as many things as possible! The parotta is crisp, flaky, filling, and perfectly toasted. The flavors of everything (lassi, samosa, curries)are complex, fresh, and fragrant. And the masala fries are addicting!!The restaurant is spacious and clean, the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, the staff are incredibly friendly, and we were even offered tea on the house! Great value for the price too. I would absolutely come back the next time I’m in Chicago.Vegetarian options: Option to make most things vegan

Very cute and clean restaurant. Food was pretty good especially the garlic naan. The curry special with 2 options of curry only allows for 1 type of curry at that price and everything else is extra. A strange special in my opinion.Wait was crazy long and no time estimate was given. Would recommend having some type of a system letting people know how long it’ll be of a wait.

This place is a jewel. The food is really delicious, the prices are actually fair! The service is provided by these really nice guys. Everyone seemingly smiling all the time. Got to try this for Sri Lankan/South Indian food.

The Sri Lankan food options were authentic! However, I called a little over an hour to pick up the food. I still had to wait for about 40 min to pick up the food after I got there.

Bright, no-frills Indian/Sri Lankan cafe with very friendly service, some old favorites, and some dishes I've never had before. The paratha stir fry (kothu roti) was very interesting and satisfying, the leeks were a nice flavorful touch. Samosas are the big, triangular kind, not the small dumpling kind, and well worth the price. Chicken Tikka is very good. They spice individual orders by request so you can go as spicy or mild as you like.

My friend and I had a delicious Sunday lunch here. This was my third visit, and my friend's first. She can't eat spicy-hot food, and ordered the Curry Plate with Chicken Traditional and Lamb Traditional, very mild. She loved it. We had an order of Samosas, which were the best I've ever had. With a very nice crust, not oily, and fully stuffed with garlicky mashed potatoes and peas. I ordered Cauli Madness, because I love cauliflower and spicy food. It's a side, but comes with rice, or paratha. I got the rice, so it's good as an entree, and it's a very large portion. We also ordered garlic naan which was fresh and hot, and delicious. And two excellent mint teas. We brought leftovers home and will definitely return. Sorry, I didn't take photos - next time. Go check it out for yourself!
