I ordered 2 taco soups, 1 chicken taco and a steak medium rare for pickup. I was told it would be ready in about 25 minutes. When I arrived to pick up my order 30 minutes later, I was told it would be another 5mins , I was there another 20 minutes. Paid my $90 for the food and went home to what I thought was going to be a good meal for the money that I paid. When I opened up the first taco soup it didn't have any tortilla chips like the menu said it would and the pieces of chicken in the soup were very tough, also we didn't get any plastic ware at all. The medium rare steak was cooked to medium well. Now I like salt on my food, but the amount of salt added to the steak was so bad that I was complaining to my wife about it and she said that for me to complain about salty food, that it must have been really salty. The only thing they get right was the deserts because it was ready made and all they had to do was put it together. I've been to the Don Pedros in Calumet City and this Don Pedros does not compare in food quality and service. I would never eat there again nor would I recommend this place to anyone. What I would recommend is that you don't waste your money and patronize the place.

I had the breakfast burrito and it was delicious. Proportion was just right and the sauce it came with so good. Great place, BYOB and breakfast all day long. Coming back l for lunch and dinner.

Picked up a to-go order for lunch and I was so pleased. Got a steak burrito and this was possibly some of the most flavorful steak I've ever had in a burrito. Perfect lunch honestly. This place looks like fun and I'll have to come back for dinner sometime. There was only one person working period and he was so nice and his earrings were cool and boy can he make a burrito! Will definitely be back!

Claims to be open till 9 PM, but closes at 6 PM hours are misleading. Make sure you call in advance of you arriving.

One of the best tacos I’ve had in a long time! The cochinita pibil taco was excellent. Perfectly juicy, on a homemade tortilla, with great mango salsa. Would definitely come back and try more items, but that was a standout!

We walked in on New Year's Eve and it was fairly empty. The service was great and our server was really nice. We ordered the don pedro guacamole which was deliciously spicy!! We ordered the duo o chicken burrito which was good but very filling so couldn't even finish it. The kids got the chicken quesadillas which was nice that they came with a small amount of guacamole too. The torta I had was disappointing. I had the veggie torta which had bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, avocado and beans and cheese. It just wasn't what I expected. I tasted the bread more and everything just kept falling out. Otherwise the ambiance and decor was traditional and I enjoyed the paintings. Will definitely be back to try something else because they have a lot of veggie options! Will also try their outdoor seating in the summer time!

Great food! Friendly staff. The chicken torta was well seasoned and the Los 3 Amigos dips were excellent. The queso was my favorite.

Perfect outdoor sitting for a warm day in Chicago. We just came for a horchata, but as soon as we saw "plátanos en mole", we had to try it. They brought plantains, with panela cheese and mole... so delicious and unique! We'll have to come back soon.

Good place for authentic Mexican on Lincoln Avenue. It's certainly more authentic than these fusion places that care more about atmosphere than the food it seems. Don Pedro has typical menu items like burritos and tacos as well as lots more that are familiar. Even though one may be turned off by having to BYOB, it's just the one inconvenience about it. The menu has pretty good vegetarian choices made with mushrooms that are meaty in texture. Came at lunch and it wasn't busy. It could have been a bad sign, but it wasn't thankfully. The few customers were more than enough work for the waitstaff. After looking over the menu, it seemed tacos were a good idea. It's 3 tacos for $12, so not bad for that. Choose protein. We got Veggie. It was mushrooms. The mushrooms were marinated and had a rubbery texture. Made it seem kind of like meat. The tacos also come with cheese and sour cream, which I left off, along with cilantro, onions, and peppers. Have to say the worst thing about it is there's no alcohol. It lets you bring in your own though. The food menu features burritos, tacos, and tortas that can be made for meat eaters or vegetarians.
