Stopped by with my fiance a couple weekends ago. We live nearby and have been there before (their beers are quite decent, hence the extra star) but on this particular evening, we weren’t acknowledged by the staff. It was semi-busy but certainly not slammed and honestly, it takes two seconds to simply say hey, someone will be with you shortly. After being actively ignored for 15 minutes (the woman behind the bar couldn’t be bothered to even make eye contact), we left. There are plenty of breweries, especially in the area, and I know that I won’t be returning to this one. Customer service and friendliness are not a priority here.

This was a really excellent brewery tour, interesting and informative. Perfectly paced, a ton of information, a great selection of beers to try.

Great German Hefeweizen beer.

Went for the Saturday brewery tour. Tour was fantastic and the guide spent quite a bit of time detailing how their brewing adheres to more tradition Bavarian methods vs American style brewing. Honestly I think their stuff tastes as good or better than the beers you find in Germany. They are all really well balanced and display a high level of craftsmanship.

We really liked the atmosphere of this brewery and their adventurous offerings, including geuze. Would love to come back with our dog when the weather is nice so that she can enjoy the patio with us.

Definitely the best representation of German beers in Chicago, and reasonably priced. I appreciate that they've even expanded their offerings to include Belgian styles.

They make some of the best lagers I've ever had. I stop here every time I come to Chicago. Don't sleep on the spontaneous beers either, really enjoyed the wild hefe.

Awesome taproom with a great selection of beers. Big fan of the Dunkel lager!
Really solid brewery. Tried a several of their beers and liked them all! The Hefeweizen was especially good.

Great spot if you’re looking for a brewery so purist in its ways, it might brew by the German standards of brewing. No gimmicks, just fresh, hoppy beer that still feels creative. I don’t know much about beer or brewing but I dig the way they play around with barrels. My old man used to get beers from the monks when he went to Germany on business; this is the quality beer I’d like to imagine he’d get.Too preoccupied with pinball to nab pics of the space or beer! Sorry mates.
