I have never had such terrible restaurant service in my life. My husband and I brought our two girls (2.5 and 3 months) to have a late lunch. We love Irish pubs and thought this would be a good spot to bring the family. Not only was the service slow, but when we pointed out that we were over charged on beers, I watched as the server went and talked trash about us to the entire bar staff. As the bar manager shook his head, he looked up to find me staring at them. Not sure if they assumed we were trying to get away with a free beer or not, but we were offered no apology when the server came back over to collect our credit card, and were quickly bussed out of the restaurant. We will not be returning, nor will we recommend D4 to any friends or family visiting the Chicago area.

Gorgeous venue and delicious food!! We went for dinner on Good Friday with our two little kids. Juan, our server, was so kind and patient and funny and helpful. The place itself is so beautiful: so cosy with a fire and books and big armchairs. Excellent menu. Food was delicious and even my picky kids tucked in. Highly recommend.Kid-friendliness: High chair available as well as colouring in paper and crayons and free ice cream. The whole staff team were really patient and kind and warm.

This place was mid, I am not sure why it has so many glowing reviews. First of all, the SMELL. It smelled like I was walking straight into the Shedd Aquarium. I have never been to either a seafood place or an Irish pub that smelled like that. I am not sure if this was a St. Patrick's Day weekend thing, but the restaurant was first come first serve - meaning if you wanted to get a table, you had to stalk them like a hawk, waiting for people to get up and leave. It was chaotic and messy. Not only that, but the servers felt like they were trying to get us out of there. I understand that they were busy, but every worker we interacted with was either clearly overwhelmed and slightly rude because they were in a hurry or just straight up aggressive. The food was certainly not anything to write home about. They had a limited menu because of St. Patrick's Day - which is fine - but the fish and chips came with potato chips and not the standard "chips" aka french fries. Had I known I was not going to get french fries, I would not have ordered said dinner. The fish was decent, mostly bread, and for $22 I expected a lot more. Personally, I would skip this place.
