I watched my friend do her first live performance for her original music here, and it was so very inviting! The decor was unique and fun, and the people behind the bar were very nice. For such a small place, they had quite the audio set-up capability -- as well as a piano! I would love to go back again!

Went for the show. We knew one of the musical performers the night we went. I don’t think GC serves food. We just drank. There is a little stage in back with some table seating. The bar is long and old. Great to see these old bars still in operation. This is the type of place local politicians would drink and talk with patrons about chicago politics. It’s nestled away in a local neighborhood. Parking could be tough but there was plenty available the night we were there. This would be a fun place to bring friends to sit, drink and listen to music or a show if someone is playing live. I would say to check their website to see if they have performances.

This is the kind of place with that city neighborhood charm that will inspire someone to put in a good book or movie. They have bands and open mics on some nights. It's not on a main drag, so you have to know it's there.Enjoy these kinds of places, Chicago. There are not nearly as many of these as there used to be.

The Gallery Cabaret has been in business long enough to know what Chicago likes. No nonsense bar offering open mics and great jazz/blues on select evenings. The atmosphere is like an old jazz club meets an old school Chicago speakeasy. Mr. G who runs the soundboard is strictly pro, and does what's needed to make the musicians sound just right. The bar service is attentive, friendly and the drinks are reasonably priced. Check the GC out!!

Good little bar, I always like bars that are within residential areas, a rarity in this country. It makes the place feel more alive and within the community it serves. They have live music here, and the drink prices are standard

Cool dive bar with distinctive interior. Space doesn’t not amplify sound well and can be difficult to have conversation if there’s rock music. Staff seemed limited for weekend night. The music is original and sometimes quite good. Drink prices are reasonable.

Love the art displayed throughout the bar & good vibe with people, however, service lacked. Ditch the neon green hair & authoritarian ego behind bar.
