Will not go back ! Very expensive for food you buy . Corned beef sandwich was little compared to others in the city . Matzoh ball soup tasted old . Not much flavor. Matzoh ball was a gray and no taste . Owner was not very friendly so did not enjoy the experience at all . Very small varieties of food.

Honestly very disappointed, not only with the food but the service as well. We spent no more than 30 seconds inside and the woman at the counter jokingly stereotyped my girlfriend as she handed us our food...Bad service aside, the bagels were also pretty mid. Every ingredient felt undercooked, and the bagel was chewy.

Very very average if you ask me, much better options around Chicago. Also, the lunch special is a $12 sandwich?

Purchased a breakfast sandwhich for $7.50 got charged for $10.50 and refused to refund on 2/15. Already an overpriced sandwhich without the additional upcharge. Will not be

We have been coming to Helfeld’s since they opened and beyond the amazing food (lox and bagels are to die for) the owners make this place even more phenomenal. The father daughter duo clearly loves what they do and it shines through in their food. They are featured at the Holocaust Museum’s “I’ll have what she’s having” exhibit which goes into the history of Jewish Delicatessens and their importance in America. The lox and bagel here is the highlight of our week!

Service is quick, sandwiches are fire and portions are generous. They seem to truly care about the quality of the ingredients they use. Do yourself a favor and get the kifer baum

Got The Rachel. Overall a very good sandwich. The thousand island dressing and the sauerkraut come together for a nice tang. The service felt very welcoming. Will be coming back to try more items, especially the NY Bagel and Bialy bagels they have in stock!

Cold soup, no spoon. No American cheese. Bacon wasn’t crispy.

I am a local in the community and have been to many delis, but Helfelds is supreme. The father daughter duo were so kind and truly care for their customers. His wife makes homemade cakes and breads which makes it feel even more special. Truly a family run business and worth supporting. The food was so good, I got the lox and my husband got the corned beef. He was amazed at the size and quality!

Highly underrated! I'm mainly just sad I didn't know about this place sooner!A really solid Jewish deli with great bagels! Looking forward to returning.I will acknowledge the price is a bit high for a bagel, but considering the neighborhood I think that's obligatory.
