The best dining experience I ever had in my entire life. The cuts of meat were so delicious and tender. The jumbo prawns were phenomenal. Eddy was a great waiter, very knowledgeable about the menu and even gave recommendations. The drinks were so good. I will definitely come back here.

this might’ve been the best meal i’ve ever had and i’m no stranger to fine dining. every bite was perfect. even more impressive was the price— we chose the cheaper omakase option with more dry aged cuts, over the more expensive option that had more wagyu.. because hot take: dry aged is better than wagyu anyways. i think it was $80 per person. that’s *insane* for this level of dining & service. they cook every bite at your table and explain all the cuts. it comes with amazing sides & salad. the base omakase was plenty of food, even though each cut is one or two bites. yes, you could rack up a crazy bill here if you wanted to (and i have to come back & do that sometime lol) but the base price for a meal is accessible for anybody wanting a special occasion dinner. i love that! i forsee this place becoming more popular and possibly more expensive in the future, (especially after the restaurant week deal), so go now!our service was top tier, but we went on a holiday, so the restaurant was basically empty. we were the only table our server was cooking for. he cooked each course separately :)

Hidden gem! Easily one of the best experiences I’ve had. The food was amazing. High quality. Everything was cooked and sliced in from of you. They explained every meat that was cooked. The cocktails were great. The bill might get expensive but it’s well worth it!

Eduardo was fantastic. What a great experience. You must try the filet mignon, prawns, and lobster tail! We love to try out new restaurants in the city from Korean, French, and fine dining. We rarely repeat establishments unless they’re comparative to Bavette’s and other staples. Holu we’ll certainly be added to that list!

Eduardo, our server, was absolutely phenomenal. What a nice young man. He made our experience unique and unforgettable. He had fantastic recommendations and was very polite and outgoing. We wish him the best as he's got a bright future ahead of him. I urge everyone to try the filet mignon, prawn, and lobster tail. Don't be afraid to try a varied assortment. Ambience, Construction, Service, & quality were all top notch. Added to the list of repeat restaurants.

Our server/chef was great. She was knowledgeable and entertaining as well as really staying on her toes. She cooked for our table and a couple others at the same time and you would never know her attention was divided. Food was fantastic and plentiful. It was a very nice experience.

This was Valentine's night out for my wife and I on the 30th year since we first met. Holu was really great - intimate, cozy and romantic. Our Waitress/Cook, Gracia, was perfect. The food was awesome. Highly recommend it.

Thank you! Your food, ambiance, and wait staff are magic ✨ I love dining here with Leo as our server, he makes every part of the experience otherworldly. I tell everyone to come here and I try to visit as often as I can. #shadasaidit

Celebrating birthday with my husband. Usually restaurants offer like a mini desert for the celebrant. We were told it was not the case - it's prohibited. I felt bad I picked this restaurant to celebrate. Overall that made the experience bad for us

Servers were nice. I didn’t enjoy the food tho. Portion was small and some food were burnt. Nothing impressive. Fork has fingerprints on it.

I love KBBQ and this was a first time trying one with better cuts. The meats I got served were delicious and on par with steakhouses. My problem is the very small portions you get for a very high price. I also ordered the lobster rice and it only came with six small pieces of lobster. The server was also very talkative which is not my cup of tea but I could see someone else really enjoying his service. My problem is that he was cooking for at least four tables at the same time. He was keeping the tongs a little far from our reach so we had to wait for him to come back to turn the meat. He overcooked some pieces because he was helping so many tables. I think if they want to have their servers cook for the table then they should only be responsible for two or maybe three at the most.I did order the smoke and moon drink as well. It took a long time to get my drink and some of the food was cooked before I was able to get it. I did enjoy the drink once I got it but it took so long for a simple drink.Overall, I think the quality of the food and atmosphere is phenomenal. I don't like how poor the service was for how much I spent personally. My bill came out to around 350 for three people and that was even using the Chicago week special. I couldn't imagine how expensive it is if I didn't do the special. I also left the place still feeling hungry and I ordered the lobster rice and ny strip on top of the special. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who loves KBBQ and likes to eat a lot. I wouldn't come back but this was an enjoyable expensive experience.

Not an ideal location for groups or locals. You gotta be like some transplant yuppie that they can leave be like a docile dog in a cage. Going to the bathroom makes you realize that the place is a hollow shell of what it attempts to emulate. Staff treat you like an annoyance and when considering how small the location is, it feels odd. Is it Korean barbecue or a steakhouse? The grill is at your table but you're not cooking your own food? Shrimp tempura sushi would fall apart making it difficult to handle. The filet mignon was a saving grace of tender. Other options of steakhouses at the range should be heavily considered for those looking around

Overall, Holu was a lovely experience. The restaurant's aesthetic, especially for a mall location, was impressive, and our private booth with a grill was fun. Although we initially thought we'd be cooking, having a dedicated chef at our table turned out to be a pleasant surprise, ensuring the food was expertly prepared. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, contributing to a positive atmosphere. However, the overall pace of the experience was slower than expected, so be prepared for a bit of a wait. We indulged in 4 meat cuts and the Wagyu fried rice; the latter stole the show, emerging as our favorite fried rice ever. Among the Australian Wagyu cuts, the culotte stood out with its tenderness and buttery perfection. The short rib followed as our next favorite, then the zabuton, and finally, the Australian Wagyu filet. We sampled 2 ounces of each cut, resulting in a nearly $200 total bill. While we anticipated the cost, it's unlikely we'd pay that much for a meal here again. Nevertheless, Holu is recommended for those seeking a fun, unique dining experience and a night out.
