This is about and only about the banana cream pie. First time trying Hoosier Mama and was hoping to be pleased. I was not. There was no Whipped cream, just custard and bananas... not enough banana either. On top of the custard was a white chocolate type crust of some sort which wasn't very tasty. (I peeled it off and tossed it out after giving it a confused nibble. The custard had nutmeg in it and too much of it in my opinion.(Nutmeg goes a long way in a custard or creamed item and can be very complimentary, but here it was overdone) The crust was average, just not flaky or light enough. I'm sorry but I've had better. However, the size of the slice was generous.

I love coconut cream pie. My wife went out of the way to buy a pie here. Maybe coconut cream pie is not their specialty. The pie was very blan, very little coconut taste, and left an aftertaste similar to dental teeth cleaning, somewhat numbing. All four people that ate this pie had the same experience.

I wanted a coconut cream pie and a coworker said Hoosier had good pies. I wanted to purchase the pie after work by the travel distance being closer but as fate would have it, no coconut pie on the list of pies for the day. Anyway, I made a special trip down on Saturday from the south suburbs to get home and see that both the coconut cream & chocolate cream pies crust were cooked so hard that you couldn’t cut through it without using a lot of force and the crust just crumbled, I’m very disappointed that I was charged $69 + some change for no good pies. If I wanted to eat vanilla and chocolate pudding I would have just whipped that up and saved time/ money. I don’t have a problem spending money on good quality products but this was a total waste. To the owners: if you know that you over cooked the crust on a pie, have enough decency to sell it at an appropriate price to someone willing to buy it, take it home for yourself or do the right thing and discard it. I really thought that I found a bakery for my coconut sweet tooth; instead I’m back to the drawing board. Very disappointed!

Im slowly compiling a list of what I do and don’t like. Here are my opinionsLove:-match pie (light match flavor and consistency is creme brûlée)-biscuits and gravy (gravy is so good and biscuits are buttery and flaky)Okay flavors-coconut cream (not much coconut?)-chocolate cream (tastes like chocolate pudding in a pie crust with whipped cream on top)

Terrible experience today. The lady who helped me overcharged me and when I asked her about it she was argumentative. The pies are ok, but nothing to write home about - not worth the price and definitely not the overcharge. They should go back to being the small warm shop they were before and get rid of people who clearly don't want to be there.

Pies are always so delicious here!! All the pies are not too overly sweet, and have that special homemade feel.

The sausage-parmesan hand pie was tasty and flaky. I ordered the pie flight as well (chocolate cream, matcha custard, and passion fruit). I ordered one pie flight for dine in and one pie flight for carry out. Two different cashiers handled the pie flight orders. One chocolate cream pie has chocolate shavings and the other did not. The pies were very delicious: chocolate cream, matcha custard, coconut cream, and passion fruit. We liked the passion fruit pie the most. I wanted to order the Sugar Cream Pie, but they were sold out of that pie at noon (low inventory on pies due to the previous day being Pi Day).

The reason for visiting this place was because of the cherry pie that appears in "Twin Peaks", and this place, with its atmosphere, did not disappoint at all! The agility, charisma and gift of the person who serves is notable, he is one and does everything, and quickly and effectively. To stand out!The variety of pastries and drinks is remarkable. The nooks that are like tables are adorable and the tablecloth is the final touch to make you fall in love with the place. I had my doubts about trying the chicken afternoon, but I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted it, because it is exquisite. The regular coffee could be improved, and the cappuccino is nothing special, but it is compensated by the variety of products. Yes there is a line and for Thanksgiving, one definitely has to reserve in advance, but they are worth it. And even more so because their prices are relatively affordable.

The chicken pot pie was great. delicious crust. Looks small but it fills the belly. Quiche, biscuits and gravy, and Keylime pie were delicious. Small seating area but somehow it worked and I was able to get my family of seven seated. They also have outdoor seating for the warmer days. pretty busy

Came in to get a pie for my boyfriend's birthday and it was super fast. He loved the pie, and has since returned to get other stuff from the menu. Staff was quick and to the point!
