I came here, simply for good traditional African food. Instead, I was served disgusting yam porridge, with a side of disrespect and was charged $28 for that. These people always overcharge my husband and I. They don’t have set prices. The prices are based on how you look. If you look like you can afford it they will charge you A ridiculous amount of money. if you come in there looking like you can’t afford it then you will pay a decent amount. on the other hand, if you are Caucasian or Odogwu you will be treated with the most respect and service. These people are racist against Black people as if they aren’t African themselves. Don’t waste your heart earn money here. There are many other African restaurants in this area uptown. PS the beans are also disgusting. They need a whole new staff.

Was hopeful about this place--the service was very helpful, and helped us with our order as we aren't familiar with Nigerian cuisine.Unfortunately I cannot recommend Iyanze to anyone as the food itself was very low quality. The jollof rice tasted burnt and the beef dish we got was extremely dry and overcooked. The tilapia was good but very bony. The restaurant was also completely empty when we went in at 6:00pm, which felt very off and made us feel uncomfortable staying to dine in.I also suspect that we were overcharged for our order. The total came up to $39 before tip, for a very small piece of tilapia, a few pieces of beef, some spinach, fufu, and two servings of jollof. Not worth the cost, especially considering the quality of the food.

The rice was terrible. It was hard and burnt. The meat was tough. The people that worked there had a bad attitude. They really need to get their self together. also, every time I go the price is different not the same smh

Horrible food service!!!Get ready to stay on the line for an hour just to place an order. When you complain about the length of time you have to wait to order your food, you do not get an apology but insults. The owner’s son actually told me McDonald’s kept people on the line for 20mins so why shouldn’t they. Just go to Osas around the corner, there are about 5 other eateries in the area.

The place is neat. I got amala and meat pie. Though the amala had lumps but the soup was really nice and it was a lot. I didn’t like the meat pie, it was nice on the outside but it didn’t taste good. My friends got rice and porridge and they really enjoyed it. They also complained about the meat pie, so it wasn’t just me. Overall, I’d recommend the place.

The lady in the front was so freaking rude like she didn’t want to be there. And she had an attitude and she rolled her eyes at us and she damn near chased us away. They need to do

Atmosphere was toxic, the music was toxic and unnecessary for the time of day (night club music at noon day?). The food was not fresh and had sour taste, and the customer service was terrible—the lady was so rude!

Was not a good experience. If you’re going to be serving people you need to have EXCELLENT costumer service, she was not polite, very rude. The food was good but I wouldn’t come here again because we did not feel welcomed & received attitude for no reason. It takes more energy to be rude than it is to be nice. May Jesus come to this place and transform the atmosphere.

Highlight: the place looks amazing.Staff: First time coming in, The staff was very friendly; all smiles, greetings and small talk.Location: The place looks great and makes me feel like I am in an upbeat lounge. I wonder why they don’t try to turn it into a bar or lounge at night?Food: jollof rice was good, but it was cold, and needed to be warmed up. Suya, one of my favorite foods, was a 7/10. 0 jollof: 8/10.I would go back to eat here. Ideally when the food is fresh to see if it tastes better.

I ate here at least four times during my visit to Chicago… there is something about the beans. Though the attendant demand tips from customers as of right…
