We came for dinner on a week night without a reservation and were seated immediately. This was my first time trying out Oaxacan and everything was pretty good. I thought the black bean dip that they started us off with was super creamy and tasty. I got the gallinitas al horno (cornish hen with mole) and was able to substitute the rice with a salad. The dish was so rich and flavorful with tender chicken slathered in luxurious mole. The salad was the perfect side to cut the richness with its refreshing crunch and tart dressing. I was surprised by how soft and delicious the corn tortillas were. My friend ordered the chuletas de puerco (pork chops stuffed with Oaxacan cheese) and enjoyed her meal. I got to try a bit of hers and while it was tasty, I preferred mine more. One downside was the cold and unfriendly service.

Great Service, AMAZING food, I shared tamales divorciados and the Arrachera a la parilla . It was out of this world! Great flavor plus a fresh natural lemonade.. Can’t wait to go back.. I highly recommended this place.

Wonderful horchata, I’ll return to scout the menu - every table had something I wanted to try! I got the mole rojo tamales. Delicious. And very baby friendly.

All the food was great, lamb fell right off the bone, tacos al pastor were flavorful, even just the chips and bean dip were great. Special shout out to the vanilla flan: it was so rich and had a beautiful strong vanilla taste, absolutely delicious!

Waiter was rude, no personality, unfriendly. Food was okay, mostly bland. Had an upset stomach after both times eating here. Wanted to like it but don't plan on going back. Too many other great options for food in Chicago.

I'm so happy that Kie-Gol-Lanee has become popular. The restaurant was full the whole time we were there. The food is really good and the service is great. The only reason I took off one star (4 instead of 5) is the noise level. I'll definitely be back!

I would have given 5 stars because the food, service and ambience were outstanding; however, they charged me $9 for extra mole without telling me there would be an added charge. My whole dish, Bellota Rellena, only cost $15! It was delicious, but needs to be smothered in the magical red mole.

Everything was fantastic, from the service, the ambiance, the margaritas and the main course.

It's remarkably good food. We're amazed every time we go.Kid-friendliness: No kids menu, but our kids (2 and 5) love the garnachas and the rice. The staff is wonderful with the kids as well.

The food was truly excellent. I love mole and the red mole on game hen was probably the best I've ever had. The service was friendly and on point. I had a tasty tamarind margarita. Highly recommend.

My boyfriend and I discovered this place over a year ago and it has surely become one of our favorite places to dine. The food was amazing and offered a wide variety of food from the region and even offers vegetarian/vegan and gluten free options. The drinks were a nice compliment to the delicious food.We go for the food but stay for the friendly and attentive staff and atmosphere of the establishment. This restaurant should definitely be on your list of places to visit while in Chicago

Last night was our first time there, and we have already made plans to take friends there. We did the RestaurantWeek menu, and out of the 7 dishes we tried (including the complimentary Black Bean Dip) there is not one thing we wouldn't go back for. The tamales were the most delicate and tender we have ever tried. The staff was so kind and gracious. An all-around winner.
