Food is okay, friendly service when present. I arrived at 10:30am for breakfast. There are multiple rooms to walk through when accessing the restaurant via the hotel and I did not find a single employee. I finally found two employees sitting on their phones in the last room by the windows and asked if I could have breakfast. They sat me, took my order, and then disappeared. Several other potential customers came, looked around, and left in a confused state, much like the one I had. No water refills were offered. By the time I finished I went to pay my check and could not find a single employee. I could have walked out, but instead went to the hotel front desk and had them help me find someone to pay with.Long story short, food was okay, service was friendly when present, which was for 3 minutes. Chicago has much better breakfast options.Of note - I am not the only reviewer to mention absent employees. Had I not received a $20 voucher for being a hotel guest, I would not have gone here.

It’s a nice, classy, Asian-style sit-down restaurant associated with a hotel in an expensive area within the Magnificent Mile. We had the food to go so can’t comment too much on the service. We ordered eel roll, salmon avocado roll, roasted pork, duck, and steak salad.Pros: roasted pork and duck were succulent and flavorful and on-par with the ones in good Asian restaurants. Pork came with some sautéed greens (Chinese broccoli?)The duck came with buns and sauce, reminiscent of Peking duck. Steak was tender and cooked well. Big piece of eel in the sushi.Cons: expensive for the amount you get. I thought the portions were a little small. The pork did not come with rice so we had to eat it with just the sautéed greens. Eel was good but not enough to justify the price tag. I love salmon avocado rolls, but they put in some kind of lemon-mayo sauce which ruined them for me.

Service was nice food was nasty, got the ramen and the pork/duck combo meat on both was chewy and did not taste right, flavours were bland and ingredients did not seem fresh, disappointing meal in Chicago!

Very good food. A hidden gem! I can't believe more people weren't eating here. Try the plum sake!

Fantastic food and incredible portions for the prices! The food was so good that we had a hard time eating anywhere else in a city full of options! The breakfast was delicious and I also loved the sushi I tried there. I look forward to coming back soon!

Food was good for breakfast but don't come here if time matters. Place had about 6 tables. No one to greet you. Took 5 minutes to see a worker. Amazing they have a 4.7, I hope dinner service is better.

The location of this place is very convenient if you fly to Chicago late and stay at the Whitehall Hotel. Also, you'll be given a discount for one meal if you stay at the Whitehall Hotel. My choice was Grilled Steak Salad and Prosseco, and I must say the salad was cooked perfectly, and I enjoyed it a lot. Special thanks go to the waiter. The service was provided at the highest level.

Exhausted from a long flight, I decided to try this restaurant while staying at the Whitehall. The “mushroom chicken soup” sounded like a great, small fix to my hunger pangs. Unfortunately, it was not at all worth the $12 price tag. What I basically got was a super hot broth with overcooked chicken and soggy mushrooms - amazingly, none of which had any flavor whatsoever. Nonetheless, the staff was super friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was great.

I tried to go here. I sat down. Ordered a drink. The workers had a loud confrontation. I dropped a $20 and left. F that.
