When I was eating the miso soup, I got something sharp in my mouth. I spit it out and it. Turns out they served me soup containing a big metal staple in it, with the sharp ends facing out. We told the waitress and they said they'd give us 50% off our bill. When the bill came they said they applied 15% off. We asked to talk to the manager about it. She had an attitude about it, and she argued with us and said it wasn't a big deal, and that we should be happy they were giving us any money off. She offered us another round of free miso soups for the table, which we declined since we had already finished and didn't want to risk eating any more sharp metal objects. I guess I'm lucky I didn't swallow it and get it stuck in my throat or something. The other food was ok and the atmosphere is chill and relaxing which helped calm me down after I almost swallowed the staple. I'm not sure why it was in the soup, I guess maybe they're using a lot of prepackaged ingredients or a soup mix and not being very careful preparing things in the kitchen, which is a bit unnerving for a sushi restaurant. Overall, would not recommend.

Great service paired with very affordable sushi options for the size of the portions, and you can't go wrong with a sake flight!I hope more people come here, we came on a Thursday and we were the only people in there at 8p which was sad given how good everything was.Our server was so nice and all of the food came out quickly.Apps:-We started with the Wings and Gyoza and both were fineSushi:-We did the windy city and Hi Jack and we loved both of them and the rolls were huge!Drinks:-$25 for Sake flight is great! We will def come back but I hope more people start to support them.

Had the omakase and it was good but server spoke too softly and it’s pricey

Was expecting more from this place. The entire place was completely empty on a Friday night which was the first warning sign. The staff were nice but the food quality for the price was not great. I'd thought for a place that has omakase that the fish quality would be good. All of sushi had a fishy taste to it (which is indicative of lack of freshness). All the food was mediocre and I couldn't eat the crispy rice or sushi and ended up ordering a bowl of rice to just be filled on something. An empty space, weird clubby like music, and expensive food without the “expensive” quality. Really wanted to love this place but it really disappointed.

The uni and scallops we had were absolutely gross. The smell of some alum preservative and the bitter taste is just hard to swallow. The service was also below average. Our server looked sad the entire evening. Perhaps the only good thing about this place is the pretty plates and fancy presentation. Overall experience 3/10

We got the gyoza, edamame, shrimp tempura roll, and veggie tempura roll. All were spectacular. The lychee martini was delish too! Skip the macarons - they weren't very flavorful.

Prices are high, nothing too special on the menu or about the ambiance. Left hungry even with $50+

I understand that it was Valentine’s Day, but there was no reason that me and my partner should have waited 40 minutes for our reservation. we ordered Nigiri and Maki rolls. Neither were great even the couple next to us left, because they were unhappy with the service and food. Would not come back here.

Horrible service, food was awful I couldn’t eat it. Even the people next to us just walked out. I was considering doing the same but I felt bad for the waitress after watching them leave her no

The restaurant's elegant decor impresses, complemented by attentive service. The artful presentation and the fresh, delightful sushi stand out, marrying traditional and innovative flavors beautifully. Moreover, the pricing is fair, making for an excellent dining experience that promises both quality and value. Highly recommended.

I was looking for a new sushi place and was hopeful given most of the reviews. However, I was underwhelmed. Nothing was bad, but the rolls were just ok - the apps (crunchy rice and calamari) were very good though. Looking around, it appears maybe doing omakase may have been a better choice than standard rolls. What other people were getting looked much better and the presentations were impressive, but I can speak to how they tasted. So if your plan is to just get a few rolls, I don't think this place will blow your mind. Still, it's priced reasonably, and nothing was actually bad.

The Omakase experience was well worth it. The interaction with the chef was delightful and the food was amazing. We opted for the sake pairing and weren't disappointed. If you are looking for a good omakase experience check Kyokus.

Great sushi place in Lincoln Park! Stopped in for a quick bite before a show this weekend and really enjoyed the atmosphere, it's upscale but cozy. The service was friendly and quick! The quality of food was top notch at a reasonable price. I started off with the crunchy rice that was deliciously prepared and the perfect amount of food before having one of their specialty rolls, which are very filling. I ordered the black widow which incorporated a variety of textures and colors and the flavors were very complimentary. The roll was very satisfactory and filling.
