We came from CA and rode 1.5 hrs in metro and bus to try this place. Amazing flavors.

April 6, 2024 My wife and I had a lovely lunch on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. I had a wonderful pork cutlet with mashed potatoes and a superb cabbage slaw perfectly dressed. My wife had a chicken cutlet with fried potatoes. That meal stayed with us all day and we are already looking to go back. The food was all fresh and expertly prepared. It is a very small restaurant but such a charming place. You won't be disappointed. We loved the Magic Jug!! Service was excellent!!

My aunt and I went on a Monday night and had a lovely dinner. We got the cabbage salad, potato pancakes, and soup, and we shared a pork chop plate. It was all delicious and left us very content. Wildly happy to have come across it and will be back for the food, pelmeni, and several other options.

Good evening . I would like to leave a review, I chose this establishment to stop by for a meal, I looked at the schedule in advance to see if this establishment was open, since the drive to them is 40 minutes.I looked at the schedule and yes they are open. I arrived at this establishment, there is no parking, but this is not a problem at all, you can leave the car a little further. I left my car, came to the establishment, saw that there were people inside, maybe they were visitors or staff, I don’t know, I tried to open the door, it turned out to be locked, and I tried this three times. After standing at the door, I went into my car and decided to call them to find out whether they were open or maybe closed, but the phone number listed in Google Maps did not answer. Then I wrote to the chat of this cafe, but received an answer after about 30 minutes that yes, they were working and the door was not locked. But I tried three times and stood near the door after and the staff saw me if he was inside. I can’t say anything bad or good about the establishment. I’m just warning you that this situation may happen and before your trip, contact this cafe for clarification.

Made an order through the application. They brought it on time? But what I got was worse than all expectations! The cheburek is burnt on the outside, the dough is sweet, the onion is more like meat, and most importantly, it is raw inside!!!I thought maybe at least "Solyanka" would be edible, because it looked decent, but no, unfortunately, it's a failure here as well.Of course, I understand the price-quality ratio, but it was not food - it was some kind of poison.I don't know who prepares these dishes, but don't disgrace Ukrainian cuisine, because it is delicious here!

My bud and I enjoyed a hearty lunch at Magic Jug on a frigid weekday a few weeks ago. This Ukrainian restaurant is on Irving Park just a tad east of Narragansett. The folksy wooden interior gets you in the mood for a nice home-cooked meal. We each ordered a lunch special combo with soup and entree, and that is where you can get a good value meal here. My combo included an amazing bowl of borscht (probably the best borscht I've ever tasted) and a yummy roll, pork cutlet, mashed potatoes and cole slaw-esque side salad. My bud's combo included chicken noodle soup, and a pair of ground meat crepes. So you can get away with a lunch combo for under $12. Alas we decided to order other food items as well! While everything was tasty, the cash register then started to ring. We each added on a glass of compote, a fruity juicy drink. I tacked on a beef cheburek. While I was envisioning a large pinwheel of meaty madness tucked inside phyllo dough, the item that came out was more like a giant empanada with a thin layer of ground beef as filling. It was good, but not life-changing. My bud ordered the Dnister salad (shredded cabbage, peas, sausage, mayo), which looked like a fancy bowl of cole slaw to me. He also polished off the sweet cheese crepes topped with jam and powdered sugar for dessert - he gave me a bite and that was delicious. Everything was good to great (borscht was my pick to click). Service was pleasant, and we were sort of amused by the Euro music mix that played during our meal. Magic Jug has a free parking lot behind the restaurant - you can reach it via Narragansett.

So good! The best stuffed cabbage and borscht I've ever had. The place is super cute and very clean. This is a new staple for comfort food.
