McGees was a fun bar vibe with good drinks, AMAZING staff, and fun music. Enjoyed coming here to watch March madness games. They were very helpful to turn the tvs to our team's channel even though there was a Duke game on (it's a Duke bar).

Probably the best smash burger in the city. At $6 you can't go wrong! There are a variety of beers on tap and the staff is super friendly. Atmosphere is reminiscent of an Irish Pub. It's certainly no dive though. Place is very clean.

new owners BOOOO!!! how are you not going to let in a legal 21 year old ? mcgee’s used to be a fun place with karaoke but as soon as i bring a friend from out of state, she “isn’t allowed back” because she doesn’t have a drivers license ID, just a federally appointed passport ID. crazy

Don’t go here unless you’re underaged. Upon entering, I was told I wasn’t allowed back there (having never been, and having to beg for an explanation as to why) for presenting a valid US passport card. I explained that that is what I use to identify myself everywhere, including airports, and was told I needed a “real ID”. Ironically, the entire bar is crawling with people under the age of 21 possessing fake ID’s. I don’t mind the owners having a specific policy, but there is a better way for a bouncer to explain it rather than implying my very real ID isn’t acceptable and that I’ve caused trouble in the past, despite never stepping foot inside prior to this experience. If two extra seconds were taken, he would’ve seen that a passport card contains all of the same information that a driver’s license would. In summary, if you’re over 21 (and especially from out of state), take your business elsewhere.

It is supposed to be a DePaul bar, but only expect to see a bunch of underaged high schoolers. It gets very crowded, and the staff usually doesn't handle it well from my experience; they are very rude and abrupt. However, I give them the benefit of the doubt due to their immature customer base and the sheer volume of patrons. This place is a fun pregame spot early in the night or a fun spot to end your night if you are extremely intoxicated.

I went there with a group of friends for NYE. We each paid $50 for it and it was a very good deal for everything we got. None of us brought cash since we paid for everything already and whenever we got a drink we were yelled at by the bartenders to give them a tip. Because of this, my friend had to go to the ATM that was outside of McGees to get cash. At 11:50pm (10 minutes before the new year), my friend went outside to get more cash for the bartenders and when he tried to get back into the bar, the bouncer wouldn't let him back in. My friend was not being obnoxious and was being very respectful to the bouncer trying to find a way that he would let him in. My other friend was asking the bouncer why our friend wasn't allowed back in and the bouncer kicked her out too for trying to help get my friend in. The bouncer was being very rude, yelling at people and kicking people out left and right for no reason. It was very obvious that he was using his job as a power trip and because of him, we couldn't celebrate the New Year inside of McGees and the $50 we paid for a good experience went down the drain when he kicked out my friends for leaving to get cash to help the bartenders. We had to count down the New Year in the cold outside and he was still yelling at us to "get off of his property" and threatening to call the cops while we were trying to figure out where to go.

The blonde short bartender with the neck tattoos accused my friends and I of being underage when we were let in showing our ids and clearly are not underage????? She was also so overly the top rude to everyone she served… get better bartenders that respect guests from out of town. Do better…

New owners are horrible. They accept fake ids of under age girls with no problem. But when they see a guy with clearly 21+ they want to say my id is “expired”. So how as a 21 year old am I not allowed in.. but these 17-20 year old girls with fake ids can get in? Horrible place with underage drunk people.

Great atmosphere, decent selection of drinks. Although a little on the higher priced side. Besides that, I love coming here, especially when a game is playing. You might want to consider taking public transportation. Limited outside street paid parking.Parking: You can park outside this venue. It's pay to park. You're right under the train, so expect it to get somewhat loud.

Typical neighborhood sports bar. Cocktails were mediocre. Great outside seating. Nothing special. Didn’t find drinks to be cheap but also not expensive. Somewhere in the middle. Good I saw being delivered to other tables was very mediocre. Most things looked previously frozen not made in house. Def would not come here for the food.

Best buckeye bar I’ve been to! I’m from Columbus, and this is the best experience to watch a buckeye game!

So I give the the food a 4 and the service was good as well. We visited from out of town so didn't know it was a Steelers bar so literally 98% of TVs had the Steelers game on. The inside was chilly so we sat outdoors since it was nice out. They serve there draft beer in plastic cups so your not getting your moneys worth considering it isn't a 16oz cup. Would of liked if they played more games in there for the non steeler fans.

Food was cold and not very well seasoned. We weren't fans. Maybe we caught them on an off day.
