Food was spectacular. Amazing Baked chicken grand mere, the heirloom tomato salad was wonderful and fresh. Steak Frites was solid as always. Absolutely LOVE the lemon bar dessert. Great drinks too. Service was relatively absent and a bit clumsy when present but it didn't ruin the wonderful food, company and ambiance.

There is a reason this place is always packed. They are hitting on all cylinders. The food is fantastic. The ambience is nice and the Service is off the charts. Hopefully you get Liz as your waitress. Steak frites probably one of the best I've ever had in the espresso martini is perfect

Once again, knocked it out of the park. A place my family and I always return to. The steak frites are killer. The new ratatouille tarte tatin in absolutely delicious. The cocktails are inventive and anyone can find one for their palate. The service was so friendly, personal, and prompt. Cannot recommend enough

I got the steak frites with au poivre sauce and it was cooked perfectly!! The sauce had a lot of flavor and the steak was so tender. The fries were just ok, they were kind of mushy. The hostess was so nice and made sure we sat at the best table. Was pretty packed for a Tuesday night so make sure you grab a reservation. The waiter was pretty nice but was definitely busy .. took him a while to take our order and bring our check. Also love the vibe of this place, super intimate

We visited for our anniversary. Both the staff and atmosphere were great, and all the employees were kind. Personally, I think their French onion soup and hanger steak are the best around. If you're unsure where to go in Chicago, I recommend this restaurant. The Old Fashioned was also excellent. I highly recommend this place.

We've gone there since we first moved to chicago. And - like many LEYE restaurants - the consistency of quality and atmosphere have always stayed high. It's always a joy to visit. Can get a bit noisy, but other than that, we are huge fans.

Consistently fabulous! Great food, fantastic service from Amy. Value for money and great ambience. I've been coming here since they opened in 1998. It never gets old! No one else can touch them when it comes to their Steak Frites! Just yummy....

Brought my spouse for his birthday. Everything was great and waiter was in good spirits. We got there early for 5:15 pm reservation. They were very accommodating, even pulling out the table to sit down. It was crowded but not too loud. We ordered the mussels and bread. Very generous portions and entree was delicious. We slowly became more and more satisfied until we barely finished dessert. They also brought out a profiterole with a lit candle for his birthday. Only complaint is when I called and asked for candle the man who answered said they had no candles. But it all ended well. I highly recommend Mon Ami Gabi for elegant dining. If you're celebrating a birthday, Bring your own candles just in case.

My friend first ordered double Glenfidich and another single serving layer on. The receipt show I got charged 3 times on the last drink for $45. Unfair. Thank you.
Went for my partner's 40th birthday, we had never been before and we had the best night, food, drink and service! Wonderful menu, with Gluten Free options clearly annotated. Our server was very friendly and helpful. All the food was amazing! Would highly recommend!

The food here is amazing. It was my first time trying this restaurant and we were there for a birthday. Our reservation was at 9pm but they were backed up so we waited until about 9:20 pm to be sat at a table. We got a drink at the bar and sat in the lobby. Our server was very nice. We ordered the escargot and baked brie as appetizers. We came in for the escargot and it did not disappoint. I would come back for them alone. The Brie was also very delicious. Both appetizers come with bread. For dinner we ordered the famous chicken and their hangar steak. They claim their chicken is famous and for a very good reason! The skin was nice and crispy but the chicken was so juicy. The sides included mashed potatoes and mushrooms with onion and bacon, both of which were just as delicious. The hanger steak was also juicy and cooked to perfection. The fries were alright. We ended the night with the birthday dessert. I will definitely be back to try more from their menu, maybe the steak bordelaise.
We requested a special table for my husband birthday and it was not honored and I told them it was her birthday and there was no recognition and yet the table next to us also had a birthday and they were recognized with candles and singing

A wonderful "go to" neighborhood restaurant. The service is reliably professional and friendly. If you've never tried the trout, you should. It could become one of your favorites on the menu. Post-pandemic pricing still shocks a bit when the bill arrives, but no more so than comparable restaurants. An excellent choice for couples who want to enjoy each other's conversation.

Not the same Mon ami. Kitchen was much slower than usual. Mon ami usually has the food flying out of the kitchen. It was a slow night. I also am annoyed with all the cost savings skimping from the restaurants these days. You used to get a baguette with mussels and now you get a small piece and it's rock hard. And there's no more shredded carrots. But overall it's still a regular favorite. The food never disappoints.
