Working for One Off is something I’ve always wanted. I have admired this group and followed their path to success for a long time. I even have the Publican cookbook and have sung their praises my entire career. When a job opportunity arose when moving back to Chicago that I was qualified for (even overly so) I jumped at the chance. Charlotte only gave me one time/date, so I traveled 2 hours to Chicago, arranged/paid for care for my dog and spent a ton of time moving my entire schedule around (which I told her) to make the interview happen. While in Chicago, she sent me a super unprofessional, unapologetic email asking me to move to next week with no reason given even knowing the lengths I went through to make this happen. If this is how their HR department (a department built to be centered around treating people fairly) treats people I can’t imagine what their employees go through. I have completely lost all respect for this group and would advise working for an employer that cares about your time, energy and finances. Goodbye One Off. Please hire people in HR that actually care about others.
