The filet is amazing, but don't order a New York strip. Appetizers are not great. The atmosphere is very nice, but the young women and their elaborate productions of posting their experiences on social media was very ridiculous .

This is our new favorite date spot! This is the restaurant with the best ambiance in the city! It’s right across from the river, and it’s super dark inside, but very intimate. The service was second to none and everything we ordered was spectacular especially the desserts! We can’t wait to come back!

Attended the Easter Brunch at Prime & Provisions for 2024. They had us at the "properly whipped potatoes" and the ferris wheel of desserts with everything in between amazingly delicious! The service was excellent..THANKS GARY!. Amazing experience and would high recommend.Parking: Valet parking is what we used as parking is very limited to the street due to the location.

My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at Prime and Provisions and it did not disappoint! Food was seriously amazing, we had Thick Cut Bacon, steaks and then shared 4 different sides. I think the Corn and Cheesy Potatoes were then best along with the bread! Service was seriously amazing, our waiter went above and beyond, no pressure to let us relax and enjoy the food, drinks and each other!

My bf made a reservation a few weeks out for my birthday as we both wanted to try all the steakhouses in the city, and this one has been on our list. We arrived and were seated in this wobbly hightop table right in the bar area. Also, my wine glass was knocked over by the waiter, and thank goodness it didn't have wine it in. We politely asked to switch tables in which the waiter obliged. The table we next sat in was another wobbly hightop table in the same area. I've never been to a highend steakhouse where I got seated in the bar area, especially with a reservation far in advance. At this point I was getting frustrated because my bf planned this dinner and if he's going to spend hundreds of dollars on food, the least I expect is to be seated and have a proper dining experience. After a 2nd attempt, we finally got moved to the dining room, where there were plenty of tables (on a Friday evening). The service was impeccable, and the food was delicious.

10/10! This is probably the best steakhouse I have ever been to. The food was perfect, steaks cooked to perfection, the wine was one of my favorites for a reasonable price, but the service… that was the cherry on top- everyone was attentive & our server Nathanael was amazing. We celebrated a birthday and it was definitely a night to remember!

A group of 4 seniors, arriving before the dinner rush at 4:30 were seated in highboys despite the foot in the boot of one and a cane of another guest (just had knee surgery) Why the highboy cocktail table? Because one of the 2 men was not wearing slacks (yeah...he just had surgery...slacks don't fit over this). Instead we were forced to sit at this small table (meant for drinks and maybe one app) and it was there we ate dinner. Because the table was so small, it was nearly impossible for the plates to fit and one guest was forced to eat off the serving plate simply because there was no room. At this time, there were two tables filled in the dining room...the rest of the dining room was empty. The table behind us sat three men who talked like they were practicing to share at the board of trade... each talking louder than the other with their voices bouncing off the glass wall they were against. So OUR conversation over dinner was difficult, to say the least. My $80+ steak? meh edged with lots of fat for a well-sliced T-Bone. Definitely a disappointment in flavor, too. My Omaha steak last week had more flavor. I used my friends steak sauce and it tasted just like A-1. Seriously? Oh brother.I am so glad I didn't pick up the bill.BUTour waiter in the Gucci glasses made the experience really enjoyable as his service and personality is off-the-charts!OK, I would be remiss if I did not mention the S'more dessert. I would go back just to have that again.

What a steakhouse. Outside ambiance is that of concrete city but the inside, the inside is gorgeous. I was surprised Prime & Provisions did not have a sommelier for this type of establishment. Food was exquisite. I’m just going to start with the French onion soup. That is one immaculate soup! Loaded with cheese and succulent onions this soup was a masterpiece. My wife had the NY strip and the lobster tail and I had the 10 oz signature filet. Sides are family style, and the potatoes au gratin did not disappoint. The one downside I have for this place is bread is not automatically served you have to request it. So for those of you who love a good piece of bread with some quality butter be prepared.

We came to downtown Chicago for my son’s 8th birthday. He was dressed in a full suit and tie and was so excited for his night out - fancy dinner and then a show.We had made early reservations at Prime & Provisions to dine in the bar area of the restaurant. When we arrived, there was an aggressively angry man named Jay (I was told he is the general manager?), standing next to a nice employee named Michelle.Jay clearly wanted us out of this restaurant, and his behavior was nothing short of shocking. He was so rude right off the bat, I’m not sure what caused this or what would ever cause this type of behavior. He said that our reservation was for four when we had five in the party. We didn’t argue, but asked if we could try to find a solution while my husband tried to look up the reservation to see if he could verify that a mistake had been made on our end.Michelle tried to accommodate us as they had a table for six that we could sit at until the next reservation arrived. They also had tables way to the side where you could easily pull up and extra chair, but Jay said it would obstruct the walk way, which it literally would not in the slightest, as there was no seating behind the table.Jay randomly stated that the kids could not eat kids meals in the bar seating area. My kids are happy to eat off the adult menu, but we’ve been here several times in the same area and the waiter is the one that always offers the children’s meal in addition to our selections.I absolutely understand if we made a mistake on our end, but nothing excuses this vile and unnecessary behavior. Our kind and well behaved kids were mortified and uncomfortable and so were we.My husband has hosted multiple large events here, and made sure his company will no longer do so in the future. We too have been here many times and would never return.I can’t even explain in words how nasty and hurtful Jay was. When he walked away and we were leaving, we had someone approach us to apologize for what had happened because they too were uncomfortable to have witnessed it.I hope in the future they remember that you can say whatever you’d like to as long as it’s done in a kind and respectful manner.

I'm not sure what I expected when I came to Prime & Provision, but I know I didn't expect it to feel like a night club. I think it was the music that was the most confusing to me because the fast-paced trance music just didn't seem to go with a classy steakhouse vibe, unless we were in Vegas, maybe. I think overall the atmosphere was just a little overstimulating for me. Saying my server was friendly didn't do her justice. She was extremely nice. I did like that it was easy to make a reservation on OpenTable and there were lots of small appetizer bites that were perfect for solo travelers and those who want to try a little bit of a lot of things. Sides can't be split into half portions, but salads can be. The filet I ordered was excellent. So, this is a place to come for a good steak.

Everything here was okay. Out for our ten year anniversary- nothing special done or even wished a happy anniversary. All their happy hour bites were normal priced as their menu. A bit misleading. Food was fine but definitely nothing special. Say under the stairs by the water station- not the greatest spot. Wouldn't return.
