Overhyped. Made a reservation for 6:30, got seated at 7:30. Food was alright, came out hot but the Drunken Pasta was not spicy like the menu indicated. Ordered the State St. drink, that was good. Server was nice. They automatically add 20% gratuity and I did get the refund email notice a few minutes after checking in (reservation fee). Restaurant was cute, definitely styles more for aesthetics than practicality - taller friends in the booth commented that it definitely makes you practice your posture.

Simply put, orgasmic! We grabbed a reservation at 5pm on a Tuesday....since we have wanted to try this place forever! (We live literally 1/2 block away.). To our surprise, it was already rocking with a dozen or so tables! SERVICE- 5 's...Juju our waitress welcomed us and also to our surprise/pleasure, she was FANTASTIC!!! (We find Chicago waitstaff a bit off) FOOD- damn the dishes were great...5 's ....we had the fried lobster, crab cakes, lemon-pepper chicken pasta and the spicy seafood trio pasta. DRINKS- 5 's....both our cocktails from the drink menu very much elevated and hit the spot. ATMOSPHERE-Great vibes going on here....gorgeous dark green velvet chairs and banquets...with gold accents. Really a beautiful space. Since we never visited their old location, we can't compare...but this space works. We discovered full menu at the bar, so we will be back! THANK YOU for a memorable dinner.

We got to this restaurant at 8pm and the said they were booked & couldn't accept anymore walkins. We asked if we were able to get takeout & the hostess said she couldn't take our order and we would need to order through Uber eats. We asked the manager because it was an extra $40 on Uber eats with taxes & fees. They still refused. Terrible service.

Ambiance 8/10: Nothing really negative or much to point out. It's a quaint place with decent decor. Good playlist. Service: 7/10: Our server was Brittany. She did great along with the bussers and food runners. The only reason I'm rating a 7 is because the front end needs work. The hostess and idk if he's supposed to be security or what made the whole time there seem rushed. I get that they have a smaller restaurant and want to turn the tables fast and get people in and out but that puts a damper on the dining experience. Food 6.8/10: The drinks are pretty good. And the food is presented very nicely. I have personally never had a caesar salad without caesar dressing... but at least the lettuce was fresh. The seafood trio was good but could use some other seasoning besides the spicy one they use. The warm butter cake dessert is one of my favorites. Mastros downtown does it better, I would try that one instead. The hype and rave around this place is due to social media and my friend and I fell for it. It's an okay place. Not enough for me to come back. Cant do half stars on here but solid 3.5/5 for me.

Went here a couple of weeks ago with a friend. The ambiance was nice. It was dimly lit and the music selection was great. We didn't have reservations but there was available seating at the bar. Our server was nice and attentive. For starters we ordered the spinach dip and Brussels sprouts. The spinach dip was not very appetizing it was almost warm and runny. I took a couple bites and left it alone. The Brussels were nothing special. For our entrees we ordered the spicy trio pasta with a lamb chop and a Caesar salad. The pasta was ok I was expecting more flavor and it was almost warm. I'm not sure why none of our food was hot. The Caesar salad wasn't really a Caesar salad given all the extra ingredients including Doritos. We weren't sure if it came that way or if someone lost their snack...We didn't feel like complaining about anything so we just packed everything up to take home which ended up in the trash. The food definitely wasn't worth the price but the vibes and the drinks were nice I recommend the MLK.

Very good. Good was a like but not a love. But some really great sauces and the nicest people. I'm grateful they could fit us in even with us getting the reservation wrong.

The food was delicious. I really liked the appetizers. The crab fries and the egg rolls. The green sauce on the fries and other items was really good. The lamb chops are the best ever. There is a special rub on the lamb chops.

Beautiful establishment, great service. A friend and myself stopped in one night. For appetizers we had calamari and salmon eggrolls. Both were delicious. For our entrées, My friend order the Parmesan chicken pasta, and I had chicken Alfredo. Both were just ok in our opinion. We know that every restaurant put their own flavor to their entrées, which is understandable. What's ok to us, might be great to someone else. I will most definitely recommend and return to this beautiful establishment and try something else that's on the menu.

I would like to say the service here was Subperb. The staff and atmosphere were amazing. The food is delicious and I had zero compliants. I give 10000 kudos to Mandi. She was the best server I've ever had. She's a young girl who cherishes her job. Unbelivable experience. Definetly returning.

My experience at this restaurant recently took place on a Saturday evening in April 2024. My friend and I had heard so many great things about the food so we decided to dine here before a night around the city. We did not have reservations and were told by the doorman that the wait would be an hour (although it ended up being about a 15 min wait for bar area seating to become available). The doorman stated that we could wait a half hour in the car and a half hour inside; however, it is first come first served without a reservation. Thus, if a party had come while we were waiting in the car, that party would be seated before us. My friend suggested to me that we should just wait at least 20 mins inside before we decided to leave, so we were asked to wait against a wall. While waiting, the doorman mentioned how he was 'just trying to do us a favor since we're the ones that arrived without reservations.' He went on to add that we should have been smiling while he works with us on getting a seat. My friend smiled and replied that we'd wait. The doorman said 'nah, your friend has to smile, too' (I was a bit ready to go because we had timed plans that evening). I did not smile and my friend said 'I'm smiling for the both of us' to which the door man replied 'I don't move off that kind of energy.' I don't know, it just seemed like a bit much for a party of two simply needing a dining table. I would have left, had I been dining alone. Food: 3/10 ; I personally ordered a Caesar salad and an order of salmon egg rolls. I wanted to eat on the lighter side and all of the other options didn't seem to fit that. I thought the salad tasted a bit watery as if the lettuce had been washed and not properly drained before being served. The shaved parmesan cheese on top also did not seem proportionate to the salad (see pic). The salmon egg rolls were okay, but did not seem all the way fresh. My friend ordered the 'drunken pasta' and a single lamb chop. She shared that the lamb chop tasted really good and she wished she had just got a full order instead of adding the pasta. The pasta, on the other hand, started out tasting delicious. After a few bites my friend shared that it started tasting too garlic-y. She kept trying to stomach the pasta until she finally decided to just eat the rest of the shrimp in her bowl. Once she ate all of the shrimp in her bowl, it was very evident that she had a bowl full of garlic. I mean, it looked like the top to the garlic came off while her food was being made- that's how much garlic there was (see pic).My friend asked our waitress if her dish was supposed to have that much garlic in it, or if it typically came with that amount of garlic. The waitress looked at my friend and replied verbatim 'if that's how the cook made the pasta, then that's how it's supposed to be'. I was wow'ed that the waitress had the audacity to imply that cooks don't f^ck up sometimes. Service: 2/10 ; Doorman was too aggressive and waitress was rude/dismissive when my friend asked a simple question about her food. Menu's could use a cleaning between patrons as evidenced by the dirty menu I was given. Value: 2/10; I do not mind paying top dollar for top tier experiences; however, the experience and the price I paid for what I had here was well unbalanced. Please note: 20% gratuity is added to all checks. Yes, this means that even if you are dining alone, you will automatically incur a 20% gratuity fee. Ambiance: 8/10 ; Really lovely decor and lighting fixtures. Played R&B music in the background. Bar area near the entrance, a dining area, and a speak easy on the lower level. Would make for great 'Instagram photos'. Location: 9/10 ; located on the west side of Chicago. Street parking only which can be a hassle. Overall, I won't be mad if I never dine at this place again. I'm finding that a lot of places (similar to spots like these) are gaining large publicity through social media, but are ea

I went to Provare on Thursday, April 4 and Saturday, April 20. Each time I was disappointed. On Thursday, April 4, I waited over 30 minutes to receive my appetizer. Even the server commented about how long it took. I waited so long that the appetizer was taken off of the bill. On Saturday, April 20, the experience was worse. Our reservation was for 7:30 p.m. However, we were not seated until after 8:00 p.m. We were asked at least three times if we had reservations. When I check-in at a restaurant, I am accustomed to being seating relatively quickly. However, that was not the case. When I checked in, my name was written on a sheet of paper, and I had to wait. The food was OK; not worth waiting over an hour to eat. I ordered spinach dip with shrimp. and I receive two shrimp. The place is small; not much room to stand, walk. Needless to say, I will not be going back.

Birthday outing that I truly enjoyed. Lots of pasta dishes. Drinks were amazing. Discovered a hidden cove in the basement but during the weekday that my guest enjoyed dinner, it wasn't open. Server advised it's a weekend hotspot and offered to give us a tour but we thankfully decline. It's busy during dinner hours. We were there about 7pm.

We enjoyed everything, the food, the ambiance and Marley. The food came out quick and good. The drinks were nice, we ordered a lot, it was pricey but worth it. Can't wait to come back! I'm telling everybody about this place, it was all that on a Sunday afternoon.

Tonight, we went here and the bouncer was extremely rude. We got there over an hour before closing time to inquire about seating at the bar and he proceeded to reprimand us like children and complain about us being late. Did we tell him we were coming??? He then rudely yelled at us to check with our host and then walked away when we called him on his behavior. I understand that there might not be seating, but when did we get to the point where restaurant employees act like they are doing you a favor by considering a request? We were happy to leave if there was no seating, but we did not deserve to be talked to in such a disrespectful way. Very disappointed.

This was a great restaurant with a great atmosphere. The service was great and the music was great, especially if you like 80's and 90's R&B. My fiancée ordered the lamb chops and I ordered the crabby fries. Both were delicious. I highly recommend for date night and a night out with friends.
