Service top notch. Ambiance feels authentic and traditional for Italian. Food prices seem a little high at face value but the quality and quantity really make up for it! Definitely one of our favorite Italian restaurants.

I've been to this place 30+ times in the last 7 years. Sadly, this time around the experience was below mediocre, so giving 3 stars is a bit of a stretch. Food: Meatballs were ok, calamari was cold and dry (no one at the table liked it, nor finished it) and the bucatini carbonara was also a but dry. I've had it many times and can easily compare. Drinks: The cabernet sauvignon was actually good, as a $100 bottle should, so not a big credit there. Service: We all felt rushed. The waitress asked us more than 30 times if everything's okay, and the busboy cleared the table even though we were not ready. We were there for total of 90-95 minutes. How fast should one eat? Sorry, Sapori! I'll think twice before I come back again, bring people in or recommend it to others.

Service was great. Food was decent but not amazing, maybe a little too pricy. Kinda dingy and old feeling in there.

Ordered the rigatoni bolognese and minestrone soup for delivery. The minestrone wasn't bad, but it almost had a canned soup sort of taste. The rigatoni was better; I don't think the fresh basil they add pairs super well with the sauce, but I suppose it's a personal preference. The rigatoni noodles themselves were very good.I'd consider ordering again if I'm craving pasta.

Definitely recommend the calabrian clams and bucatini carbonara! Both are very unique and a must try. Portion sizes are quite large so you'll have plenty of leftovers!

The burrata platter was outstanding, featuring creamy burrata, grilled bread, and prosciutto di Parma. The Spaghetti Allo Scoglio was a seafood lover's dream, with fresh shrimp, mussels, and scallops in a flavorful marinara sauce. The portion sizes were generous, and the presentation of the flaming cheesecake added excitement to the meal. The restaurant also has an impressive selection of cocktails and wines to complement the dishes.

Food was good but nothing surprising - I enjoyed my lasagna but didn’t think it was the best I ever had. Overall a good meal but probably won’t be going back on my next trip to Chicago

I would leave a negative stars if I could. We read all of the reviews, it was recommended by a friend, and so we went there for a special bday celebration. Sapori describes itself as "Cozy Italian Restaurant serving fresh pasta & other authentic Italian dishes". That was not our experience and we were highly disappointed. The Sea Bass was so salty it was hard to eat. The pasta was way over cooked. The service was extremely slow. We asked to speak with a manager, but they were not available. I called three days ago to speak with a manager, and did not get a return call. While others have recommended it, we cannot do so. And based upon our experience, we will never eat there again. Better to go to Angelina or Piccolo Sogno.
