I ordered War Mein for takeout and the dish had a horrible, potent chemical smell to it, noticeable almost immediately upon opening. Dish went straight in the trash and won’t be ordering from here again.

We had dinner after a long day and we wanted something easy and delicious. The staff here is always kind and hospitable.Their take on General Tsoa and Orange chicken are fantastic. Dinner portions are always enough for almost two meals.Great neighborhood Chinese restaurant!

Stopped in tonight shortly before 8pm when they close at 9pm, and was denied a table because they are closing soon. That would have been completely understandable had they not just seated another table of 2 seconds before we asked to be seated as well.

Fantastic neighborhood spot for Chinese comfort food. Everything is fresh, tasty, and prices are reasonable. Service is quick and friendly. Super clean inside including spotless restroom. Definitely one of my regular spots when I am in Chicago!

It can be so hard to find no-frills food on the north side. For the times when you just want simple, well made take-out after a long day. After some searching this will certainly be my new spot for this. The fried rice was great, service was great, and prices were fair. Definitely check it

Picked up some veggie egg foo young and hot and sour soup. Really hit the spot. Size small was still a bit more than I could eat by myself. Delicious food at a good price. Ready in 20, tough to beat!Vegetarian options: even if it isn't they will make as such

October 27, 2023:I got lazy again and ordered out. Why Shanghai? I have little fear in ordering from them. And in addition, I get two meals out of it. However, they have limitations in an order asking for accommodations. They don't separate brown sauce from vegetable egg foo young. When I asked for extra sweet & sour sauce, I got packets of soy sauce.See the meal is prepared. Ugh!I got to stop ordering out.______________October 15, 2023:I ran out of food before I shopped. I had nothing to eat and needed a meal. I ordered Vegetable Egg Foo Young, steamed rice, crunchy noodles, and an Almond Cookie with Diet Coke is delivered. It was said the food would be delivered in 55 to 60 minutes and it was. The rice carton was smaller than previously offered. The 4 thin cookies were over priced. I like the beverage in a can and it was the real thing. My only object is the restaurant offers no fruit cup or dessert, like carrot cake. You can't go wrong eating here or getting delivery.I prefer the regular steamed rice and not the sticky rice. The brown gravy had too much gelatin.Thank you.
