I absolutely LOVE the food here, even without the boardgames, this place would definitely be a regular visit for me. Definitely going to be bringing me and my friends here all the time, I've loved it both times I've been here so far. The servers are patient and explained such a simple board game to me and my friends bahaha. They patiently shuffled a card game when I got tired of shuffling for us lol. Absolutely love them here.

I hosted a birthday event with a bunch of friends in 2023. We had to pay half up front to book the private event. Friendly environment, the owner was friendly and we had great service from the staff. Not everyone in our large group plays board games but everyone was able to find something to play.No gluten free options were available. If I had any board game party advice for you I would say to read over the rules for any board game before you get here. I spent a little too much time trying to figure out how to play a couple games.Also- try to find some "party" games that the non-board game people might be interested to play.

Came here with my wife and a friend and everything was great. The whole staff was friendly and engaging. Our server Matt was super patience when explaining how to play a new game we chose and helped out with any confusion (which i had a lot of). He was also attentive and would check in periodically to make sure we had everything we need.No pictures of the food we ordered were taken, I think we were too busy eating it. Everything we ordered was delicious and well-seasoned. A veggie jibarito with sweet potato fries, cubano, classic sampler with pastelillos, maduros and bolitas de yuca. We also ordered a pretzel, which could have used a couple of minutes more getting warmed up, but overall was good with the cheese dip.The cupcakes for sale to support Autism awareness month were also good. The carrot cake cupcake was moist and well spiced. The guava cupcake was also good, although the cake itself was a bit on the dry side. Nothing a flavorful frosting couldn't fix though. Finally, the passion fruit was the best in my opinion. Sweet and a little tart with a moist crumb, super well balance.Overall, this was an awesome first visit and we will without a doubt be back.

We had such a wonderful time with our kids at Stay and Play. The staff was very accommodating for our more finicky eaters and we found so many wonderful games to enjoy while we were there.Kid-friendliness: There were a lot of options for games that the whole family could enjoy together. Kid friendly bathrooms and water cups made for easy accommodation of our tinier humans.

Although it is written right on the menu, we did not realize there was a charge per person, per game. However, this business model makes sense given that guests will stay for a long time with the surprisingly large collection of games.

Fresh and clean looking cafe with several shelves of games to play. The tables were plenty large for all of the games we played. The games were in very good condition. The staff was quite helpful in picking out games to tylry and explaining the rules. Food was a pretty good quality and a little above average in price for the quantity. Appetizers came out very quickly but the jibarito took a while to come out.

It’s quite pricey, so if you have that kind of disposable income to pay $5 + $10 minimum menu item purchase for 2 hours and you already have a group of friends to play a game with, this is your establishment. You’re not going to be able to make new friends as this isn’t a community building place - it’s the place where you can bring your pre-existing game playing community to, a chance to check out different game titles and eat some Puerto Rican food - you’re just paying extra to use their resources. If you don’t want anything to eat or drink, it’s still going to cost you $15.

Took my wife to Stay and Play for her birthday. Overall we had a good experience. The only disappointment was part of the food we ordered that my wife called it a “board game place that happens to sell food.”Atmosphere: the place is lovely. It has a great selection of games The bathrooms are clean.Service: put server was friendly.Food: my wife enjoyed the cinnamon hot chocolate that she ordered. I enjoyed the chicken pastelillos, they were really delicious. We both had negative feelings about the French toast that we ordered. We are used to French toast being made with Texas toast( bigger and thicker bread), but the French toast was made with thinner and smaller bread, which was not what we were expecting. In addition, the menu stated that the French toast would arrive with berries and syrup, but we did not get any.Aside from the French toast, we had a good time playing board games.

Been here twice and ordered takeout once. Food is authentic Puerto Rican. Better than all the P.R. joints in the city. They have too many games to choose from and you can look online to see what they offer. The service, you can't ask for more, they were welcoming, our food came promptly, and we had no complaints. The married owners work in their restaurant so it feels like home and it feels like they can easily fit in with my Hispanic family as they conversed with me and my family. It's modernized inside and the atmosphere makes you want to come back.Vegetarian options: Veggies pastelillos.
