So yum! This cozy counter service Filipino food spot offers a wide array of entree options that you can mix and match with your garlic rice bowl. During our visit, we tried out the crispy & savory fried milkfish Bangus, the tender and well-seasoned Bistec, the rich pork pieces in blood stew Dinuguan, and the crispy pork belly Lechon. Every dish was well seasoned and incredibly comforting. The garlic rice that came with the bowl had very generous portion too. We left very full and satisfied.

Food was just ok. Also paid over $50 for small portions in the combo plate. Also just had a weird after taste.

Finding parking spot is very difficult especially on a busy street near any school. Slightly salty when reheating the food in the microwave the next day.

Very good food, very fast and friendly service, and a very reasonable price!Got three things:- Chicken BBQ: very good and flavorful, good texture. Only thing would be that I like a lot of sauce and these didn't have as much as I usually like.- Lumpia: Not usually my favorite but they were so crisp and fresh! Loved their lumpia!- Dinuguan: I LOVE dinuguan so I was looking forward to it. Very good, but different than I have ever had. There was a lot of ginger which I was not expecting. I liked it, but not typical in what I have tried.

My recent experiences with Subo have been sub-par. While it is counter service, much has been lacking in service and quality of the food. Many times pickup orders have been at least ten minutes late. BBQ pork has had a lot of gristle and fat. Like too much as some is okay but theirs is inedible at times. A few times when ordering pancit there was a lot of lacking in the chicken dept, like almost none. Sadly, I hope things improve.
We had held off on dining in at SUBO for a long while since it seemed like even dining in was all disposable-ware. Recently after surveying new Filipino options near home, we figured to hit the circuit and include SUBO, especially after seeing some actual plates in the dine-in photos. Came with just family on a casual Friday dinner and had the place to ourselves. Having options to get different entree sizes (16 oz vs. 32 oz) as well as the pick one/two with rice gives you different approaches. For our family of three, it was best to go with 16 oz entrees and ordering a 16 oz rice separately. We got the palabok, kare-kare, and the langka and side of bagoong was provided. The langka was probably the most mild flavored Indeed the dishes came out on reusable plates/bowls while our personal plates were styrofoam with plastic utensils. We brought our own utensils. Self-serve water was available in styrofoam cups, but sodas are reasonable $1.50. We were there close to closing - and had originally thought to order something sweet. Will do so next time were there earlier. Total was about $50 and we took just under half home - reasonable!

Food is good, service had improved, but prices have gone up and portions gotten smaller. That's not good. I get the rise in prices, but you don't take away in portions. That's a rip off.Of course owner is going to defend the business in refuting reviews, but reviews are made in customer experiences. Portions here are in fact smaller for the price rise. How many reviews stating the same do you need to realize that?

Food's flavor is fine. But the servings of the entrees are small. And there are no prices on the entrees, and when we asked the cashier what the entrees' costs were, she basically said it ranges from $12-$20, which is a pretty huge range! Here's a picture of the adobo and the sinigang. Tiny bowls.UPDATE: Updating in response to the owner. Yes there’s a price for a combo meal, but it does not indicate that each entree is only 8 oz. Also, the middle menu board says there’s a different price if it’s 16 oz or 32 oz, but all of the prices are blank. This is the same comment made by someone else 4 months ago - and that person posted pictures. I’ll also note that the person who came in after us spoke with the cashier for about 5 minutes trying to get clarity on your prices. The cashier was nice enough, no rudeness or anything. But maybe you can simply update your menu to make the prices transparent.
