Food was great and atmosphere was great. Although our service was not good. We didn't have someone come to our table for 20 minutes, host took our drink order finally, then, the server barely spoke to us or came over throughout our dining experience and he was super inattentive and we had a hard time getting him to come over and take our order. It wasn't super busy which is strange. I have been in the past and service was good but this time it was very disappointing.
The place was beautiful, however, the service was horrible. After waiting for over 30 minutes for our food, four out of the five plates of food that we ordered were cold. After complaining to the waitress they removed the food, apologized, offered to remake it, and assured us that it would be hot. The second round of dishes was warm but not hot. I was very disappointed, but was even more disappointed that they never offered any sort of compensation for our inconvenience. I had to request it.
It took a very long time for our food to be delivered. We ordered two appetizers then our entrees and one appetizer came out while the other one took at least another ten minutes, meanwhile after ordering our entrees we still waited 45 minutes for our food to come! Didn't seem crazy busy but yet the service was slow.
We tried the seasonal pistachio carbonara and the spicy salumi and burrata pizza. The sauce for the carbonara was pretty watery. The pizza crust was also quite soggy. Service was excellent.

Really excited to find this place. As a person who needs to be Gluten free, they were very accommodating and helpful. The food was fantastic. The server was really helpful, but was also very busy, so didn't get to our table as frequently as we usually encounter. Definitely going back

I came here for brunch with my husband looking forward to the southern Californian style. The decoration and ambiance definitely reminded us of Santa Monica, very bright and summery. However, the food was very underwhelming. We ordered the avocado toast and the breakfast burrito. For nearly $20 we paid for a very simple nothing special avocado toast (could have made it better at home).
We had to wait 30 minutes even with our reservation, meaning the restaurant definitely took too many early walk ins. Was also out of a type of gin and one of the specials, which was disappointing.

Loved the summer house! The food was fantastic and the space is like eating in an atrium, so pretty! Make sure you grab some cookies on your way out, those were great treats to bring home! Only problem is it's a bit loud. 
Summer House is a lovely restaurant with amazing food and drinks. Ive been to the Chicago location several times. I'm always pleased with the service, the beauty of the restaurant, the drink options and the food options.

Tiny potatoes, chunks and way too many chunks of CELERY. The vegetarian couldn't even finish her hash it was so unappetizing. Fake plants everywhere. Had to wait forever to be served. Way too pricey for subpar food. Who are the people that left rave reviews?? Puzzling.

Went before play at the Steppenwolf Theater as it is an easy walk/park once. Lovely restaurant, especially in the atrium and in/out on a nice day/night. Good menu with options for those watching calories. Very good service and we were in and out in 75 mins with no issues.

I brought my friend in for a birthday lunch. They gave us a table in the bar next to the service station. The server said nothing about my friend's birthday which was noted on the reservation. I didn't want to complain at the time but it was disappointing for his special day.
