I have been to so many of these types of restaurants in Chicago I would consider myself a little bit of an expert.It's everything that you would want out of this type of place and more: great food, lovely service, great vibes.They gave really good grits! ❤️❤️❤️The sausage omelette was perfect.

The pancakes (they're called wheatcakes here) were delicious and fluffy. Best pancakes I've had in a while. I had a stack of three with bacon and sausage. So filling and yummy!Staff were lovely too, such genuine and amazing people

This place is a tiny slice of heaven within the hustle and bustle of Chicago. Simple food, simple prices, and most of all calm atmosphere. Which is amazing for those cozy Sunday mornings. In my eyes this place beats an IHOP or Dennys any day of the week.Food is very lightly seasoned, which to most may be a con but in my eyes I enjoy seasoning my eggs and hashbrowns to my own taste rather then being upset how it was seasons for me.Service is very relaxed and homey. You may not get a super cheery peppy welcome however the staff was kind and extremely friendly.I'll definitely being making this place a regular Sunday spot ???

Terrible experience. Rude, condescending staff. I usually tolerate strange behavior, but this was extreme. First time I walked out of a restaurant in over a decade.
Great mom and pop food! Eat in or take to go! Delicious food! Not many diners left, this is an oldie but goodie!

The Sunshine Restaurant sits on a busy corner but its location is not a reflection of this breakfast spot. Once you walk it, you feel like you have gone back in time to a classic diner. Simple, yet elegant. The dishes are all the classic breakfast meals (including a lunch menu on the back). We had the Country Skillet and Mexican Skillet. Both of which were amazing!This was our time coming here and it will not be our last. Great food. Great atmosphere. Great people.

When you walk in you immediately feel that someone loves this place very much. Everything is clean, well ordered, and clearly cared for.The griddle, which is where most of the food is made, is right in the front of the 10 seat counter's swivel seats.Service was quick but unhurried. The waitress clearly knew many of the patrons as she asked after what had happened since they were in last.Food was amazing. The skillet was tasty and the coffee better than most.I can't believe I've never been to this place. I can't wait to come back.
