I truly enjoy Sushi Suite and all it has to offer. The chef was incredibly kind as was the staff there; all the courses were great. However, I will note that I signed up for the 17 course omakase meal. We were definitely shorted and I believe it was closer to 12 courses. I ended up ordering two additional courses which were great. But I felt like we didn't get all we paid for.

The overall experience was great. The Chef was fantastic & added to our experience, as well as his incredibly delicious food. The hostess was not happy when we arrived (five minutes early) and continued to seem like she didn't want to be there. She rushed the group before us and did the same when we finished.

What a great experience!!! From the minute you walk through the “red door” you feel like you're in a sushi speakeasy. Each piece, custom made right in front of you by Ken! Don't ask me what they were because I don't remember but from the tuna to the uni to the Waygu, each bite better than the next. The entire staff was spectacular. Felt like I was back in Japan! Worth every penny!!!

Great food but they take every opportunity to try up-charge you. Taking out wagyu as a last course then saying it's not included just felt like a money grab to a captive audience.

An absolute treat of a meal! Loved it from start to finish with the drinks from the bartenders (shoutout to Juan!) and the amazing chef behind the sushi. 10/10 experience for a first timer at omakase.

It's a speakeasy for sushi! It was dark and intimate. Perfect for couples celebrating in a semi private setting. The cocktails were pretty and the sushi was delicious. The flavors just kept getting better and better! I liked how the rice portion was skinnied down on the fish so you didnt get stuffed too fast. The seating is elbow to elbow at the chefs bar and it seats 6 so it might be tight if you are uncomfortable on a 16” ish bar stool. Chef Ken was very polite but quiet so I missed most of the explanation of each course but didn't mind because I was having a great time. I'm already planning my next reservation.

i've never had omakase before and was hesitant since it's pricey for the quantity you get, but the bites you get here are phenomenal. the staff was wonderful to work with and the ambiance there is so intimate but with a chill vibe. they even let you get another serving of your favorite course which was amazing. would definitely come back again.

This was an amazing experience! The only negative is the seating it was too tight and you are seated by 2 other couple’s that you do not know. Especially with covid I believe we were too close for comfort and a bit irresponsible on the restaurants part. When I booked the Date night package I was under the impression that it would only be 2 of us in the suite. I believe it was deceptive practices because you were not made aware before hand that you would share the suit with 2 other couples. Also, they poured 3 sakes and didn’t say that was extra. The way it was presented it leads you to believe that was part of the meal and then you get billed for sake a total of 50.00 for the sake flight. I read that you do get a cocktail flight included in the price and any additional drinks that you order you will get charged, well we did not order the sake they just poured it so why not tell us before you pour it that this will be extra. It was just deceptive in my opinion. The food was excellent so I have only good things to say about the food experience!

First time there to celebrate a milestone birthday. The food was delicious as was the service. HOWEVER, it was a bit disappointing because of the ending. It felt abrupt, we had no way of knowing what # course we were at of the 17 course meal unless you kept track of the count. The chef served the last and then just started cleaning up. He then said that as the last one and another employee stated we could move to the open seating area as they needed to clean/prep for the next seating for guests. It would have helped had they listed what was on the menu that evening so you knew where you were. AND given this was a major milestone birthday, I had been expecting a dessert of some sort to be served. I have gone to Sushi by Scratch and they wrapped up the evening with a tea and dessert. Hence, why I assumed something similar would occur here. For a $400 dinner, I don't think it was out of line to expect something a bit more (or at least a piece of fruit and a candle). I don't know if I could recommend folks to come here if they were planning to celebrate a birthday IF they want to have the whole birthday dessert type recognition added to it. Otherwise, food and service was awesome. I would totally come back when it is not a celebration of some sort.

The food quality was great but i don't think its worth the value. I could barely hear or understand what the chef was telling me each sushi item was after he made it. Also they really didn't talk or engage with us guest at all so it was really awkward at times. I've been to a few different other Omakase before and this one didn't impress me which is sad because i had high hopes for it from other friends recommended this place. Ive been to sushibybou before and i think that was well worth it over this.

Such a unique and intimate experience! The chefs and service all friendly, and lovely to take a shot with. The sushi absolutely outstanding and makes my week every time I go! If you haven’t had sushi omakase before, come here and it will literally be a life changing experience. You won’t see sushi the same.

Perhaps being overly critical but when prepay is required for an expensive meal, it should live up to the expectation. While the experience was great from intimate speakeasy vibe to cocktails and presentation of nigiri, fish-to-rice ratio were inconsistent, which is glaringly obvious when they served back to back immediately. Otherwise, it is a great spot for a date night especially if cocktails are appreciated.

Just book it. Stop looking. This is the best sushi spot I've been to in Chicago, the service was amazing (Ken making the sushi was an artist with fish. Seriously, give that man a raise) and the food was mouthwateringly good. I don't have pictures to post because the food was so good I didn't bother taking pics. My girlfriend was literally yelling yum at every course. The counter seats 6 so it's a very intimate experience, full bar and sake pairings as well. 100% recommend.

A very unique omakase experience hidden away inside a hotel room. The ambience was perfect and cozy. The choice of music was great and at the perfect sound level. You can also ask for a gluten free experience since my husband has celiac disease . Great value for what you are getting too! The experience also comes with a flight of delicious cocktails. Drinks were so good.

We had a great time at Sushi Suite for Valentine's Day dinner. The ambience was great, the service was wonderful, and of course the sushi was amazing! The chef made us all feel comfortable and explained most of the rolls. All the fish was extremely fresh, and I can say I loved every roll, we had a hard time picking a favorite. My partner is also gluten free and they were extremely accommodating for this allergy and others at our seating time (someone else had a nut allergy). I think my only critique would be to make it a little easier to figure out how to get in. The front desk at the hotel was busy and we had to wonder around a bit before finally finding our way upstairs. Maybe also have a sign to say knock or a doorbell. Otherwise, 5 out of 5, we will definitely be back in the future!
