This restaurant is one of my very favorites. They provide a Korean beef dish that is my top pick since it is so flavorful and tender. Because it is one of my favorites, I look forward to having it so much when I go out to eat. But, that was not the only dish that we ordered; in addition to the elotes fries and tacos, we also got the shrimp and bulgogi quesadilla and the elotes fries. And every single one of them is incredibly tasty. The space is extremely cramped, although there is some sitting available inside. But still okay for me. In addition, the staff is kind and welcoming, and they take a very hands-on approach to their work and other responsibilities. I am grateful for the wonderful service and the delectable cuisine that they offered. Thank you very much, Takorea; I will most certainly return to try more of the fantastic set of dishes that they have to offer.

I came here with my students on a field trip--the owner generously donated meals for our kids. But I wouldn't have written the review if the food wasn't as amazing as it was. It's a Mexican/Korean fusion that works better than I ever would have expected. I had a chicken burrito, and the flavors were great. The kimchi fried rice had a nice kick to it, and everyone raved about the food and service. I'm really happy to find a new lunch spot in the neighborhood. As a bonus, ownership clearly feels invested in their community. The owner talked with our kids for a long time about his experience in school, and then took us down the street for ice cream. Great food and better people. Thanks so much, I'll be in again soon!

This place makes an appetizing bowl with fresh veggies and dynamic flavor. I got this one with the sweet chili garlic grilled shrimp and it was delicious. I ordered it to go and the clerk Danny was very friendly on the phone and in the establishment. I appreciate the kind service and delicious food they provided. Thank you Takorea, I'll definitely come back to try some more of your awesome fusion offerings.

We stayed in Ukrainian Village last weekend and were looking for a quick place to pick up food. We were feeling tacos and a Korean-Mexican fusion seemed like a good fit! We walked to the store front and the smell inside was a little nauseatingly sweet/sour. Maybe even a little bit like B.O. This is the only reason I am giving it 3 stars because it was almost enough to push us to leave the restaurant. There were some uncertain glances among the three of us. We all pulled up reviews, where everyone was raving about the food, and the person at the cash register was super friendly and inviting, so we stuck around and ordered. The tacos were amazing. I ordered one of the carnitas, chorizo, and steak. They had a ton of flavor, a fun tang to them, and were very filling. The kimchi fries were at recommendation of the cashier, which were really really good. Price was very affordable and the service was top-notch.

This is right down the street from me and in almost two years I've only gone twice. The first time I just didn't enjoy it. The flavors didn't work for me and I had never bothered to stop by again. It just wasn't for me. That said, the owner is incredibly active in the local community on social media channels (he posts regularly in the Facebook group for Humboldt Park) and I decided I'd give it another chance. I had the bulgogi quesadilla and the elotes fries. I was, to be frank, a little skeptical on the elotes fries but they were actually delicious. That said, the star of the show was the bulgogi quesadilla. Even with delivery (yes I am feeling that lazy today) I had food delivered like 3 blocks everything came hot, crispy, and delicious. I will add this to my neighborhood rotation.

I ordered the bulgogi burrito and kimchi fries and was very disappointed with both. The rice in the burrito was dry and flavorless while the only flavor that came through was the overpowering taste of soy sauce from the beef. The food is overpriced for the quality of food they sell.

The food was excellent. The staff was super friendly. The wings are out of this world. Definitely going back.

This place is out of this world. We ordered every single taco option as you can see and all of them did not disappoint. This is truly a rare gem of a place. The creative options and wonderful combination of two cultures is a match made in heaven at this joint. My favorite is the carinta taco. Also, by far hands down. This place has my favorite kimchi fries and I've had an abundance of them including in Korea.I was fortunate to meet the owner Rob, who I was able to praise and hopefully cater my wedding in the future.

Bangalangin! This place is really tasty. I popped in waking by, it’s very small, not much seating. Very quickly I was greeted, ordered, and got my to go Burrito within 5 minutes. I’ve traveled quite a bit, Burritos are a go to for me, and this one is prob my favorite outside of SF or LA. Very good, quick, and good vibe. Def coming back!

I'm a huge fan of Roy Choi's kogi tacos in LA so when I saw this spot in Chicago I had to check it out. Bulgogi burrito was a thing of perfection. If I have to critique, possibly a touch sweeter than I'd prefer but, damn, just excellent. The culmination of fried rice, cabbage slaw, pickled carrots & "tako" sauce, boom! Wife tried the nachos w beyond meat & was very happy w all selections. Sweet chili shrimp tacos were great. Will return soon!

Love love love this place. Finally tried it for the first time recently and I wish I'd discovered it sooner. It's a small place but there are a few places to eat in. Tried the tacos, rice bowl and the burrito and everything was amazing.Shout out to the owner (Robert) for amazing customer service but also for everything he does to help the community.

We didn't know what to order in, so the Mexican-Korean fusion of Takorea Cocina peaked our interest! We ordered delivery: everything was well packaged and arrived warmish after the delivery journey. Our favorites were the Fried Rice (added chicken) and the Kimchi fries! Fries would have been amazing if they were fresh. Next time we'll pick up ourselves. My 3 tacos were good- the favorite was the sweet shrimp one! Bulgogi meat on a taco was just too sweet for my taste. Totally a preference thing. My fiancee's bulgogi burger was delicious but the bottom bun was a soggy mess. Too much slaw marinade for a foil wrapped to-go order? A few tweaks and this could be an easy 5 star delivery meal!
